Mazda releases “spyshots” of the Mazda 3 hatch!

Mazda 3 Hatchback
Mazda 3 Hatchback

Mazda has decided to beat the spy photographers at their own game and publish these high-res high-quality photos of the upcoming hatchback version of the Mazda 3 undergoing road tests, complete with your classic taped up and covered sections.

The original Mazda 3 hatchback while having an obvious family resemblance to its sedan sibling did not share a single body panel with the sedan. You can expect the new Mazda 3 hatchback to follow its predecessor’s lead, but if we find out the front end is one and the same as the previously unveiled smiley sedan, it’s probably a sign of cost-cutting times.

Look after the jump for Mazda’s self-published “spyshots” of the Mazda 3 hatchback.

Self published spyshots! Well Mazda, new marketing gimmick or short on advertising budget?

Looking at this, I can’t help but think .. could this the same reason why we see a flurry of Proton MPV spyshots recently?

    It’s heavily concealed.
Publicity stunt you say? Sure. it might get some ‘carparazzi’s’ angry though. :D

unlike proton’s mpv, these are high-res Professionally stages photos of their prototype.

so far, shots of protons new mpv are akin to amateur home video, taken by people like you and me.

hmm.. notice the lack of any “japanese”

Is this as a purpose to get early feedbacks from public?

car manufacturers sometimes do this to get consumers to “hold-off” on their purchases.. so they will wait for the new car to launch before they end up buying some other car and probably from a competing brand.

this could mean that mazda may have info that a competitor may launch a similar car before them, or somewhere near their timing..

maybe mazda can get the rewards when the self publish it. Sell it to car magazines. That way they can get profit too. Also if everyone knows what the car is going to look like, this looks like a logic thing to do
