Interesting new models coming from BMW Malaysia soon!

This F25 BMW X3 was spotted on a trailer in Klang yesterday afternoon. There was only a single X3 on the trailer it seems, the rest of the vehicles consisted of a combination of the 5-Series Sedan and the 5-Series GT.

As the X and Z models usually don’t have their engine variants listed on the rear badge, we have no idea what model this is – the badge just says X3. Badges such as xDrive20d are usually listed on the front wing or the front door.

Interesting new models coming from BMW Malaysia soon!

The second model would be a new variant of the F10 BMW 5-Series, teased in a message by the BMW Malaysia Facebook account yesterday. No details beyond that but I would place my bets on the introduction of a diesel-powered F10 520d.

These two models are probably not all the new stuff we’re going to see from BMW Malaysia this year as the CBU MINI Countryman SUV could also make its appearance at least by the end of the year, if not early next year. No reason for it to take that long though since it’s a CBU import.

This car is doomed for failure in Malaysia, just like the X1 cause most of the models are actually diesels. The petrol is a crappy underpowered unit.

So, now you know why BMW Malaysia was doing all the propoganda about the benefits of using diesel and how much BMW cared about the environment and how much they wanted Malaysians to save on fuel. All bull. First class bull. They knew the X1 and X3 models mainly consisted of diesels long before their propoganda.

No way will Euro diesel be EVER introduced in Malaysia. It WILL NEVER happen. People can dream all they want to dream. And BMW can continue making people dream the false dream in view of promoting their sales. The government will lose a lot of money as more people will use less fuel, thus, less revenue in taxes from the oil companies to the government.

BMW is screwed big time in Malaysia now that most of their cars are all diesels. Hopefully your 2.0 petrol twin turbo will save the day.

I would consider another BMW diesel, like X6-35d or if the warranty is unlimited mileage 5 years at price lower than the porsche Cayenne 3 liter diesel. But not the X1 and X3, ugly models. Seems like it would not happen. Fly kite BMW.

cudnt agree more. I have seen a lot of X1s too.

The 3 liter twin turbo diesel will never survive in our country with the current diesel quality we have now, tho some grey importers have brought them in the X6s here.

And for this X3, I heard from a source that we are getting the xDrive20d only. Hope we will get more choices.

Very strange. I am a salesman and I drive about 200KM per day in just Klang Valley alone, where most luxury cars should be. Despite driving 200KM per day, everyday of a given week, I have never seen one X1 on the road.

So where are you seeing all this X1’s? You sure you are not a BMW salesman?

By looking at the adv. apparently BMW marketing contributes the most. What else to say?

I would go one step further by saying BMW marketing and BMW Sales contribute the most in this comments section. So obvious they are giving comments here cause I too have not seen even a single X1 on the road. Aiyoo, BMW Sales, you cannot be that desperate lah!

Agree with you totally. Never seen a X1 on the road at all. Went to Auto Bavaria, saleman told me about what is written in the forums on the constant breakdown issues. Goes to show, they are always checking what is written on the Internet. So I am not surprised a few positive comments here are made by the salesman.

BMW Salesman, pls be a bit dignified like the Mercedes saleman! Don’t stoop so low.

Not many 35 diesel on the road. I have seen once a 535d and X6 35d. So, I cant comment if our diesel has impact on 35d but not the 2.0/2.5/3.0 diesel. I own 530d for 3+ years with no problem with the engine, but a lot of tear and wear problem due to driving behavior, pushing it too much. In addition, a lot of quality issues that BMW appointed service guy cant rectify.

Because X1 is the cheapest premium 4-wheel drive. You may see a lot X1, but I see a lot more cayenne than X5, X6, X3 or X1. I driven the X3 (2.5 petrol) for one month. It is not comfortable, struggling to move (high rpm). Well, not sure about the X1 and new X3.

Wow!! Audi salesmen are shivering big time, but what the hack Audi has never able to get close to BMW.
Alpha is right, I also saw many X1 on the road.

X1 and the X3 looks are average and cannot match the Audis but their drive and handling are excellent. Nice to see BMW putting the effort to actively bringing in these SUV models to our market and assemble them locally. They are more active and aggressive compared with Audi or Mercedes.

  • BMW Msia should really be thinking of a CKD F10 528i M-sport very very very soon because that’s what sold like mad with the E60.
