The Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG now has a king-of-the-hill version in the form of the E 63 AMG S-Model – announced during the unveiling of the W212 E 63 AMG facelift back in January, both sedan and estate body styles will be available in Europe from June.
This one adds a differential lock on the rear axle for better traction, and has 28 hp and 80 Nm more than the standard E 63 AMG in terms of output. With 585 hp and 800 Nm, it’s good enough to give the S Model a 0.1 seconds improvement in the 0-100 km/h run; the sedan does it in 4.1 seconds, while the estate takes 4.2 seconds to do the same.
Exterior dress-up elements include a high-gloss black front apron with silver-shadow splitter, side sill panels and rear trim strip with silver-shadow inserts and an AMG spoiler in body colour. Also on, 19-inch AMG Titanium matt grey alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and ‘S’ labelling on the boot lid.
Inside, there’s black nappa leather upholstery with grey contrast stitching, silver seat belts, an AMG emblem in the headrests, an electric rear roller blind (for the saloon) and AMG door sills with white LED illumination, not forgetting an AMG instrument cluster and S Model badging.
