Spy photographers capturing a car completely undisguised before the car is revealed to the public are occasions that are rare, and when they do happen, usually the car companies do not say anything. A few occasions where this happened in the last year include the S-Class, C-Class, 4-Series Coupe, 3-Series GT, and the most recently the next generation F56 MINI.
Of course, MINI being MINI, doing the norm isn’t exactly what they do, so they issued a semi-humorous response to the F56 MINI being pretty much completely uncovered. They only talked about the yellow car in their story though – there was a green one and a red one as well. Here is the release:
