We have our first video of the C217 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe, seen here undergoing testing on the Nürburgring. The replacement for the CL-Class bears a conservative but handsome coupe shape, its sporting intentions conveyed by Merc’s single-horizontal bar sports grille and those slimmer headlamps.
Round the back, its tail lamps eat into the boot lid, and twin tailpipes peek out from their integrated position on the voluminous rear bumper. The interior is pretty much the same as the W222 S-Class sedan‘s, save for a few minor differences.
Speculated powerplants include a 4.7 litre V8, a 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6, a 5.5 litre twin-turbo V8 and a couple of V12s. Expect a concept to turn up in Frankfurt this September.
