MercedesTV has dropped this short but juicy teaser of the Frankfurt-bound Concept S-Class Coupe, which in turn previews the production S-Class Coupe that is due next year. The video reveals brief glimpses of the CL-Class-replacing design study, giving us a first taste of what it looks like in the metal.
Like what you see but can’t have enough of it? Fret not, as Mercedes-Benz has posted a sketch of the concept on its official Facebook page earlier, which you can see below. Only the first drawing was released officially, while the rest of the Mercedes Concept S-Class Coupe sketches were leaked online last week.
They finally confirm the S-Class Coupe’s horizontally mounted rear lights, which we first revealed back in May, in a set of spy photos. That led on to a few more cloaked sightings in the following weeks, once of which revealed the S-Class Coupe’s restyled interior.
In full production form, the S-Class Coupe is expected to carry the same powertrains offered in the upper reaches of the S-Class sedan range. That means high capacity turbocharged V8 and V12 motors, with up to 650 hp on offer. Just like the so-called “Super S-Class” limo, it will rival Bentleys and Rolls-Royces in the top echelon of luxury motoring.
