Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe to debut at Frankfurt?

Spy-Shots of Cars

The rumour mill is buzzing with news that the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe could be making its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. While camouflaged prototypes are still making the rounds in testing, this rendering based on the spyshots shows what the BMW 4 Series rival could look like, and it looks pretty appealing.

From what has been envisioned, the W205’s stretched out styling does translate well onto the two-door body style, with the low-slung roofline lending yet more elegance to the profile. The wing mirrors has been moved from the base of the A-pillars to the doors, following the lead of the new S-Class Coupe, while the rear styling should echo its big brother’s slim, wide tail lights and low-set number plate recess.

The interior shares the same basic design as on the sedan and estate variants, but the final production coupés should sport some higher-end trim and material choices than on their regular brethren. The regular C-Class’ range of turbocharged four- and six-cylinder engines are also expected to feature, as will a 476 PS (510 PS on the S model) 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 on the AMG C 63.

Aside from the coupé, Mercedes will also be offering a C-Class cabriolet for the first time later in the year, and unlike the folding hardtop 4 Series Convertible, will feature a canvas roof.
