Toyota Supra replacement rendered, based on FT-1

As you are well aware, Toyota is building a sports car – slated to replace the long-departed, sorely-missed Toyota Suprain collaboration with BMW. As we eagerly await the fruits of the partnership, slated to appear in 2018, rendering wizard Theophilus Chin has again whipped out his Photoshop brushes to visualise his idea of what Japan’s next performance hero will look like.

Using the stunning FT-1 Concept – long rumoured to be a preview of the final product – as the obvious base, Theo set about reconfiguring the show car for a more production-ready look. Out goes the triple-claw headlights, proboscis nose and twin electric intake fans, replaced by more pedestrian projector headlights, a more pedestrian-friendly schnoz and a gaping lower air inlet inspired by the 86.

Elsewhere, other 86 parts have sprouted, such as the wing mirrors, door handles and wheels. The Corvette ZR1-style glass engine “window” and large front fender vents of the concept have also been massaged out, while the complex barrel-like surfacing along the flanks – which probably would not have been feasible for production – has been simplified.

Speculation is rife regarding details of the joint sports car – both BMW and Toyota models are expected to make use of a BMW-sourced turbo straight-six. There are also reports that Toyota has trademarked the S-FR name to use on its version. Whatever it’s called, we can’t wait to see it!

2005 camry of course sell below 100k. For 100k, you can get a 2005 Audi also.

Dun compare rubbish camry with conti Audi
Contis are for riches, the dun care about depreciation value but most Japs cars buyers do.
So, it’s bad to lose 60k in 10 years, even faster than that

It’s kinda Toyota’s thing now to offend everyone with their styling. I hear they’re working on making something even uglier than the Mirai.

      • Ugly styling is only half of their problem, i truly hate how their production vs concept cars are so different you couldnt even believe its from the same company, its just so absurd. Why even bother.

I can understand if Toyota wants to use BMW’s expertise on the chassis and handling department, but using their engine as well???? That’ll be a huge shame, I mean the Japanese already have decades and tonnes of experience in high performance engines, why need to use a German engine this time?? Ain’t gonna happen..
