Mercedes-Benz has definitely raised the bar yet again. It’s latest teaser is absolutely mysterious. The car in question is the Concept IAA, which will be revealed at this week’s Frankfurt Motor Show. IAA is an acronym for Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile.
The first teaser showed the rear of the car, with the star emblem and the words ‘Concept IAA’ engraved into a louvered back panel below what looks like an additional brake light. The latest teaser shows a four-door coupe with a sloping roofline and muscular stance.
The key highlight is the aerodynamic drag coefficient of only 0.19 Cd. Mercedes says that this particular concept is an “an aerodynamics world champion and a four-door coupe with embodying irresistible design.” No technical details have been released so far.
Could this be an early preview of the next Mercedes-Benz CLS four-door coupe, based on the upcoming E-Class? It’s got a bit of an Audi A7 Sportback-like flavour to it, and there are even rumours that this could be Merc’s future Tesla Model S fighter. We’ll see.
