Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has previewed the facelifted Volkswagen Amarok with several sketches of the pick-up truck. The Amarok has been around for nearly six years now, and this facelift gives the truck a more premium look.
The facelift includes a redesigned front fascia, featuring a more angular bumper with silver accents and a skid plate. The fog lamps are also better integrated into said bumper, less obvious than before. Slimmer headlamps now flank a thicker and more prominent grille. At the rear, the tail lamps now feature a new, more modern lighting design as well.
Inside, the Amarok ditches its round contours for more horizontal and vertical lines as evident by the new dash layout. Here, the repositioned air-con vents and touchscreen infotainment display are in much closer proximity to one another. New switchgear for the climate control system can be seen here. These changes add up to give a more “car-like” look to things.
Volkswagen has not given any information on any potential changes that will take place under the hood. An updated powertrain featuring the brand’s 2.0 litre EA288 TDI engine might be fitted here, mated to a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission with Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system. The current Amarok can be had with a single turbo (140 hp and 340 Nm) or biturbo (180 hp and 400/420 Nm) diesel engines.

Look a bit ranger-like. especially the WildTrak sportbar and the interior.
Never ever ever ever drive an unreliable VW into the jungle. VW wont event survive Malaysian pots holes. I’ll stick on Ranger, Hilux or Land Rover. Thank you.
