Earlier in March this year, we brought you a render by Japanese magazine Mag-X that depicted the facelifted 2016 Toyota Estima/Previa. It appears the render seen at that time is pretty accurate to the real thing as Taiwanese site 7car has uploaded several (grainy) images of refreshed MPV.
The third generation (XR50) Estima/Previa is now more than a decade old, and to inject some youth into the thing, Toyota has decided to go with the aggressive route. Much like the render, the Estima/Previa gains a shorter nose than before but with sharper details. The bumper now sports a trapezoidal look with a blacked out grille section.
Meanwhile, the LED headlamps are significantly slimmer than before and “leak” down the edges to a pair of LED strips. A thin chrome trim piece with the Toyota logo links both lighting units here. Along the sides, additional chrome details have been added to the doors and lower section of the doors as well. Sporty wheels are also part of the updates, as is a dual-tone paintjob.
According to the Taiwanese publication, the official launch date of the new Estima/Previa is June 6, 2016. As for powertrains, it is reported that the 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine will no longer be offered this time. Instead, the 2.4 litre 2AZ-FE four-cylinder (170 PS and 224 Nm) and a hybrid powertrain that employs the 2.4-litre 2AZ-FXE (150 PS and 190 Nm) with two electric motors will be available.
The new Estima/Previa will also get a bump in safety with the Toyota Safety Sense that has two packages – P and C. The Toyota Safety Sense P package includes pre-collision system with pedestrian detection function and radar cruise control. As for the Toyota Safety Sense C package, pre-collision system, Lane Departure Alert and Automatic High Beam are featured.
What do you think of the updated Toyota Estima/Previa? Are you a fan of its new looks? Or is it a little too aggressive for your taste?

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Why am I not surprise?
coz its very ugly..
Coz u got no money to buy?
Another suitable transportation as hearse
After Exora.
It needs an all new model instead of a facelift…
Isn’t this got facelifted once already?
More than half of the Previa/Estima running on Malaysian roads are cloned cars anyways…….
Coz tbh, no one in their right mind would buy this over the similarly-priced Honda Odyssey or the much cheaper Nissan Serena.
1. UMW has to put in 6 airbag + ESP for it to be sellable.
2. Can someone answer true/false: 1. Estima is more comfortable than Serena. 2. Estima has 2 airbags + ESP, whereas Serena only has 2 airbags without ESP. 3. Estima is double the price of Serena (factoring in interest, annual insurance etc).
This is a perfect car from inside out and no other brand is able to beat this car in term of reliability, fuel economy- 15 cents per KM, cheap spare part and bullet head design. (awesome)
What need to improve on this car is the power (Dual VVTI + hyrib) and interior cockpit to match the exterior bullet head.
