The 2016 Paris Motor Show is still several months away, but Mitsubishi has already released a teaser for a new SUV concept that will debut at the event. Christened the Ground Tourer Concept, the concept is a follow up to the XR PHEV II and eX concepts from last year’s Geneva Motor Show.
Like its previous concepts, the Ground Tourer Concept will showcase Mitsubishi’s latest development of its ‘Dynamic Shield’ design philosophy. The teaser image reveals nothing more than a shadowy silhouette of the concept, where a low-slung, flat roofline and raked rear window can be seen.
There is also a two-tone paintjob applied here with a red roof and grey body. Other visible highlights include cameras that replace the conventional side mirrors, and incredibly slender lamps at the front and rear. Brightening up the image further, we also see a large gaping intake up front.
Mitsubishi has not provided any indication what the concept will preview (a next-gen Outlander, perhaps?). However, the carmaker has said that the Ground Tourer is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), and will “offer effortless travel both on and off the beaten track whatever the driving conditions.”

The roof is already Evoque-ish enough.
