Ford expands SEMA line-up with six custom Mustangs

Ford’s line-up of cars at the upcoming Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show now includes the iconic Mustang, with six custom show cars set to appear alongside modified Fiestas, Focus, and F-150s.

We start with VMP Performance’s creation, which is the most ‘Murica of the bunch. Based on the Mustang GT, the car gets a ‘Avalanche’ custom paintjob, which is then airbrushed with various military tributes, including the United States military insignia.

The 5.0 litre V8 engine also gets more firepower courtesy of a 2.3 litre TVS supercharger kit, and several other upgrades, which brings output up to 851 hp and 953 Nm of torque.

The car also gets Roush three-way adjustable coilovers, Ford Performance Brembo brakes, Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres wrapped around 19-inch wheels, along with a race-inspired interior.

Next up is the Pearl Candy Orange Mustang concept, based on the 2.3 litre EcoBoost Mustang, which packs an AFE intercooler, exhaust, front and rear sway bars, as well as a NX twin-bottle nitrous oxide system.

The lowered stance is courtesy of an airbag suspension setup, and the car also receives Wilwood brakes, and 20-inch forged wheels (wrapped with Falken Azenis tyres).

The orange theme is also a big part of the interior, where items include an orange dashboard, contrast stitching, Katzkin leather seat upholstery, Alpine electronics system and a mono power amp.

Moving on, there’s the Mustang GT done by Speedkore Performance Group, which gets a Whipple stage 2 supercharger, boosting the V8 to 825 hp. There’s also a set of Eibach coilovers and sway bars, HRE-P1 wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres, a carbon-fibre body kit, leather seats and custom leather upholstery.

The fourth SEMA Mustang is the work of MRT, taking a 2.3 litre EcoBoost Mustang, and piling on a Vortech supercharger, MRT stainless steel exhaust, and MGW short-throw shifter for the six-speed manual gearbox.

The exterior of the MRT Mustang features a carbon-fibre hood, chin spoiler, grille, rear spoiler, and taillight panel, matched with a custom candy-cherry paintjob. As for the interior, a seat delete kit, carbon seats, MRT interior, and Kicker audio system have been added.

Number five is an EcoBoost Mustang that is fitted with an array of Ford Performance parts, packaged with a Stealth Grey paintjob and Acid Green accents. Mods include a old air intake kit, Borla exhaust, custom tuning, suspension kit, 20-inch Niche wheels, and Michelin Super Sport tyres.

Finally, the last creation is a reproduction of the Shelby Mustang GT350 from 1966 by Revology Cars. It has been designed to capture the essence of the original ’66 model, but with a modern twist thanks to the Coyote V8 engine, electronic parking brake, Wilwood brakes, LED lights, and a gadget-filled interior.

  • After watching the video, these cars are not suitable for M’sian as it portray the Ford as a Muscle car & it must cost an arm or a leg to maintain/repair. Suffice to say, this not out cup of tea if you get my drift.
