Perodua has managed to deliver its 250,000th Axia, nearly three years after the model was first introduced. The fortunate owner of the historic Axia is a school teacher, Isma, who resides in Langkawi with her family.
At a handover ceremony, Isma was joined by her husband Ismail Din and son Isma Abdul Hadi Ismail, where they were presented with a mock key, a bouquet of flowers and a small token for being the lucky customer.
“We are very impressed by the Perodua Axia. We borrowed and drove the car to Cameron Highlands earlier this year and we are amazed at how stable, fuel efficient and good looking the car is,” Ismail Din said.
On the delivery of the quarter million Axia, Perodua Sales managing director, Datuk Dr. Zahari Husin said, “we are happy yet humbled by the overwhelming response by the Malaysian public for Perodua in general and for the Axia in particular.”
“In just over 3 years, we have delivered a quarter of a million Axias, which is a significant milestone for us. This endorsement is a testament from all Malaysians about the Axia’s offerings, not just from an affordable standpoint but also on its overall offerings, which include quality and most of all safety,” he added.
Launched in 2014, the Axia recently received a facelift this year, and is priced between RM24,900 to RM42,900 (on-the-road with insurance). The VVT-i-equipped 1KR-VE 1.0 litre three-cylinder engine serves up 67 hp and 91 Nm of torque, paired with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic tranmission.
“Apart from being the lucky quarter millionth customer, Isma is also in the running to win a Perodua Myvi under the 12-year anniversary promotion which is running between July 1 and October 31, 2017,” Zahari noted.
Customers who purchase a new Perodua vehicle at an authorised Perodua sales outlet, service their vehicle (with a minimum spending of RM300) or trade in any car with Perodua, will be eligible for an entry in the ‘Myvi 12 Iconic Years Anniversary’ promotion.

If Korea/Japan/Europe at same price sure can not sell
Good luck teacher
Should have made the car special rather than just organising a one- time event
250,000 unsafe vehicles on road, congratulation Perodua.
P2 gak mantap. Steady Datuk Zahari !
Y no comment?
It is better not to comment when we have nothing constructive to say.
Those who stay at Langkawi better get non-national car as there is no excise duty. Get honda, toyota or nissan much better since it cheaper at Langkawi.
I thought P2 delivering Axia to driving school instead it is to the school teacher.
