For the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA 2017), Mercedes-Benz will roll out two new variants of the V-Class – the RISE and the Limited Edition – along with a new optional Night Package.
“The V-Class is still proving extremely popular after three years on the market. The latest figures underscore the sales success of our MPV, and we are proud of this success story. We are now enhancing the appeal of the V-Class once again just in time for the IAA. Reflecting the wishes of our customers, we are expanding the range with two new models”, said Volker Mornhinweg, head of Mercedes-Benz Vans.
We start with the V-Class Limited Edition, this variant will be limited to just 1,500 units, and sports a designo hyacinth red metallic exterior finish (already available for the C-Class and E-Class). The special V-Class also receives the Night Package (more on that later) as standard, and additional visual packages like the AMG Line and be added for a fee.
Moving on to the V-Class RISE, which has a starting price of 34,990 euros (RM176,636), and can be ordered in standard- and long-wheelbase versions. Standard safety kit includes Crosswind Assist, which can be enhanced with the optional Pre-Safe, Collision Prevention Assist and Lane Keeping Assist.
The RISE also provides drivers with access to the Mercedes me connect services (introduced earlier), and will be able to connect with their vehicle at any time via smartphone, tablet or PC. Two diesel engines – 134 hp (100 kW) or 161 hp (120 kW) – are available here, paired with a six-speed manual as standard. For a little extra, buyers can specify a seven-speed 7G-Tronic automatic instead, with 17-inch light-alloy wheels being another optional extra (16-inch standard).
As mentioned earlier, the V-Class can now be specified with the optional Night Package, if black highlights appeal to you immensely. With the visual package, you get 18-inch alloy wheels finished in high-sheen black, obsidian black metallic exterior mirror caps, front grille black louvres and chrome inserts as well as black tinted windows in the rear.
If the V-Class comes with the Avantgarde or Exclusive equipment lines, the waistline trim strip is also painted in black. Additionally, with the AMG Line and the Avantgarde Exterior Sports Package, black-painted inserts are added to the the front apron air intakes.
