The 2018 US-market Honda Accord was unveiled in July this year, with the new 1.5 litre and 2.0 litre petrol powerplants marking the first time the popular Japanese D-segment sedan adopts turbocharging for improved emissions, economy and performance. Inside, the Accord gains a host of modern conveniences such as wireless smartphone charging, near-field communication (NFC) and 4G LTE Wi-Fi to name just a few.

None of which is referenced in Honda’s latest video featuring the latest Accord, however, as the 60-second clip merely alludes to how the Japanese sedan has defined each generation, such as the choice of accompanying music for each featured generation of the Honda Accord here. Cue Seventies disco with the SJ-generation Accord, a hint of Cameo with the CA Accord, and synth-driven pop with the fifth-generation car.

Keeping with the times with one of its most popular models, according to Honda; typically grown-up the D-segment sedan may be, it continues to be at or near the forefront of popular culture, as alluded to by Honda with its musical references. Honda calls it “the most impressive Honda, ever.” Big claim, this one. What do you think, dear readers?
