VIDEO: paultan.org Meet and Greet – November 2017

Ever wondered how paultan.org came to be? Well, in as littlest words possible, the website started out life in 2004 as a platform for its creator to share his personal thoughts and opinions on the Malaysian automotive industry, and over the years the scope broadened to encompass the region.

As content grew, so did readership, and in recognising your support, we had organised our first ever Meet and Greet session that took place last November at the Driven Studios in Glenmarie, Shah Alam. The premise also allowed 30 readers – each with a plus one – to get up close and personal with the two latest plug-in hybrid executive sedans, the Volvo S90 T8 Twin Engine Inscription Plus and Mercedes-Benz W213 E 350e PHEV.

As for those who missed out on the opportunity, fret not, because there will be many more Meet and Greet sessions to come – we promise :). Right now, do watch the highlights video to get an idea of how things went.

Also, keep an eye out for a one more video to come, featuring those who came forward during the session (shoutout to you guys!) to share their thoughts on the cars. For now, enjoy the full gallery below.

I must say Paul Tan and his team are full of quality. Their presentation, their Driven series are full of information and presented perfectly.

Infact Top Gear must learn from Paul Tan how to run a blog and emulate Driven.

Keep up the good work Paul Tan and team. We love you guys and we appreciate all your effort put in.

Yes , I totally agree and give a big round of applause to Paul Tan and his amazing teams of motoring professionals for the great works , reviews, feedbacks and current technological issues about cars.

Would be appreciated if Paul tan can invite professionals like doctors, engineers , architects and industrial leaders to participate and give their version of feedbacks, opinions and enthusiasm of their general views too .

Please ask Paul Tan , perhaps he can enlighten you further .

To many of us , perhaps Sam Loo is just fictitious figure created to entertain the audiences .

Put side to side Meez and Volvo, can see that Volvo is long way to catch up the standard and luxury level of merz

      • I always imaging the Mercedes badge as a Taxi status always .

Mercedes is still a long way for me to change the perception that it is not a Taxi Image but as a luxury .

Till now Mercedes level is always Taxi perception still in my mind..hard to forget !!

For a car that doesn’t even have blind spot monitoring system nor pilot assist, you’re just embarrassing yourself to consider it the more luxurious car.

I’ve followed PT since the early days and I still remember one of the first post talking something about famous Japanese professional jobs…”they are like normal people like us too”.

Actually the first meet and greet (more like teh tarik session) was done back in 2009, Paul Tan was still solo i think, he just got early access to Proton Exora, it wasn’t launched yet.

I organised it, casually calling it The Junk Car Club meet, cuz Proton was kinda really hated by the mainstream public until called junk lol. But most of us who went were kinda supportive of it, we believed in then-MD Syed Zainal Abidin. Thanks Paul Tan for belanja everyone that night, he still had E39 or Perdana V6 back then iirc.

There was a proton staff used to frequent here a lot, si-fu iirc. Discussions revolve around Proton Exora that night.

What a coincidence fast forward to today, the next meet and greet session also featured cars associated with Geely.

Hope to get selected next time, maybe feature XC60 or XC40? Lol

Ah, when i said solo, i meant he was running this blog alone (or Harve assist occasiaonally), there wasn’t a team like today lol.
