Ford has released a teaser video of the new 2019 Ford Focus, which will make its debut on April 10. The video shows close up details of the fourth-generation Focus, which will enter a European C-segment hatch arena filled with familiar foes such as the Volkswagen Golf, Opel Astra, Renault Megane and Hyundai i30, just to name a few.
The video zooms in on the upcoming Mk4’s front grille, headlamps, wheels and rear logo. We can’t help but notice a few Volvo-inspired (to put it mildly) cues such as the LED daytime running lights that’s much like the Swedish brand’s signature “Thor” design (missing a leg on the Ford), and the “Focus” logotype spread across the hatch, like a V40. The wheels are huge two-tone items with a spiderweb design.
The new Focus has been spotted without any camo previously, and the side profile is significantly more shapely than the outgoing Mk3. Looks familiar? A quick office poll saw names like the Fiat Tipo, Mazda 3 and previous-generation Hyundai i30 come up. What do you think?
Word is that the new Focus will have a 50 mm wheelbase growth to improve rear legroom, which is much needed. Weight savings, improved efficiency and aerodynamics, and an electric version are on the cards. The engine range should include the 1.0 litre Ecoboost three-pot at the bottom, and 1.5 litre and 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol units for the “regular” and ST versions, along with the 1.5 litre TDCi.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
I hope they ditch the crappy Powershift (dry clutch DCT) and replace it with a 6-speed automatic.
They already replace the dct to torqued during the mk7.5 facelift
Hope they bring in the manual too
Only half the hammer. Closer to Audi A4 look.
Where is the guy that claimed himself as a Focus & Fiesta owner from 2010-2015?
Every time he claimed his Fiesta/Focus parts have to wait for three months and take Len Seng bus to work? We need to you spice up every Ford article in Paultan. Your troll is sorely missed.
Ford sales no more eating into his Toyota sales, now he targeting P1 instead.
Ford now must be like:
Haha, screw you Aston Martin – We owned you, we’ll use your grille
Haha, screw you too Volvo – We owned you, we’ll use your ‘Thor’s Hammer’ headlights
Range Rover – Well, we have our Navigator, Thanks.
Now this looks like a Focus that I will like. Design looks pleasant for once.
Horribly priced here, pretty much like all SDAC vehicles. 110k for a C segment car with two airbags. Crazy ah. Quickly discounted their trend line to 100k but it was already too late, Civic provides way more features for just a bit more. Even if buyers want a car with better driving characteristics, they can choose the Jetta, which often comes pre registered at a fairly cheap price.
