Proton becomes first car company to support Tabung Harapan Malaysia – RM10 pledge for every car sold

Proton has become the first car company in the country to support the government’s Tabung Harapan Malaysia, a fund set up for those who want to ease the nation’s financial burden via voluntary donations. For every Proton vehicle purchased, the national carmaker has pledged RM10 towards the fund.

In an official statement, it said: “as a caring national corporate organisation, Proton feels the need to come forward to provide additional assistance towards this worthy cause, for the country and the people of Malaysia.”

According to Proton, this initiative will be ongoing from June 1 until the end of year (December 31). With GST-free pricing now in effect, you can now save on your Proton purchase and contribute to the rebuilding of the country at the same time. Sounds like a win-win situation, yes?

        • This is so wrong.

Proton has never contributed to BN when BN is around. Najib even defended Proton and will not to let it sink. In contrast, Tun M said Gov not interested in buying back Proton and will let it rot. So why Proton saports new Gov? RM1 also i will not gip them.

If this continues, i will stop saporting Proton and urge all to boikot it.

    Kudos Proton. 10/10 for initiative.

But, to be honest, RM10 is very kedekut lah. If a Saga is RM39,000 the RM10 donation is merely 0.026%

    Think you could do better.

    • Proton could contribute a whole lot more by shutting their company down. The amount of money they have wasted to making awful cars that no one wants to buy. They would’ve saved tens of millions of the rakyat’s money.

Do you think RM39k is how much they earn per car? The margin of a single entry-level Saga is less than RM1k. Giving RM10 out of that amount is already decent.

  • so after the billions RM we gave to Proton, they only give RM 10 per car?

not to mention the high car prices caused by them for the past 35 years just so to protect them.

i think you’re missing the whole point. no one is asking you to buy a car to support tabung harapan. it just means that if you buy a proton, rm10 is given to the tabung.

People contributing without knowing what national debts are LOL….

National debts includes interest that the govt has to pay for KWSP’s purchase of govt bonds, and their stake in govt-owned businesses and assets. It also includes bank interests that govt has to pay for PTPTN loans. For foreign banks and countries that hold Malaysian sovereign bonds, the interests that our govt needs to pay them are also a part of our debts.

So basically, dumb people that contribute to Tabung Harapan are paying the bank interest of foreigners.. are helping PTPTN debtors and defaulters to cover interest charges.. and providing dividend payments to your own EPF accounts… LOL….

Proton! Why RM10.00 only? If I’m the owner of Proton, i will rather not to announce of RM10.00 each unit sold to be donated to PH fund. I will remain silence. If RM1000.00 being donated for each unit, you will be salute and honor. Ensuring this will bring your company image up. Seriously only RM10.00??? 21st century jokers. LOL

Well, if only RM10.00 for donation. That’s really nothing to inform to the public. P2? Buying P2 is like supporting Made in Malaysia goods. Because it own majority and handle locally. Besides, Myvi and Bezza was totally Malaysian design. At least P2 have change it’s perception and never ask a single cents from G but perform superb. P1 is totally own design but some still using others Jap as well but too bad it was own by China. Management in P1 was totally being change to foreign while Tun M have no interest since it’s not Malaysian company anymore. Proton sucks our money so much and perform badly. Quantity of staffs vs output of car doesn’t match to P2. Well, I’m not here to bash. In reality, P2 never use our Tax money to maintain its company.

Did P2 ask for RM1.5B like P1 did? When P1 ask for money, ask so much. When P1 donate money, donate so few.
