F87 BMW M2 CS with 445 hp, manual gearbox due?

For those who still crave more power from the F87 BMW M2, this bit of news may just be the cure to your blues. Remember the top M2 Competition that was announced last year, one that has 410 hp and 550 Nm of torque? Well, the rumoured M2 CS might just be the new range-topper.

According to a source from the Bimmerpost forum, the M2 CS will be introduced sometime this year alongside the all-new 2 Series Gran Coupe, and the twin-turbocharged S55 3.0 litre inline-six engine from the M2 Competition could be reworked to produce as much as 445 hp.

Those are huge numbers for a compact performance car, and if proven true, that would make it almost as potent as the M3 and M4 Competition. Expect it to come with revised bodywork (such as front splitter and rear diffuser) optional larger carbon ceramic brakes.

There’s not much to go around, but it appears that the M2 CS will be available with a six-speed manual transmission as well as a seven-speed M dual-clutch transmission. Carbon-fibre roof is said to be standard, and possible exterior colours include Black Sapphire, Alpine White, Hockenheim Silver and Misano Blue.

The cabin could receive unique trimmings, although the black leather/Alcantara upholstery seems to be the only option on offer. Other possible additions include Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with programmable M1 and M2 buttons, Alcantara-wrapped gear shifter, as well as carbon-fibre inserts. Thoughts, guys?
