2019 Nissan X-Trail facelift in Malaysia: spec-by-spec comparison for all variants – from RM134k to RM160k

Edaran Tan Chong Malaysia (ETCM) has finally announced the official pricing for the Nissan X-Trail facelift, and it is indeed the same set of figures we first saw at the 2019 Malaysia Autoshow. The entry-level 2.0L 2WD costs RM133,888, 2.0L 2WD Mid at RM145,888, 2.5L 4WD at RM153,888 and the top 2.0 Hybrid 2WD at RM159,888. All models are EEV-certified and share the same Xtronic CVT with manual mode.

Included in the price is a five-year unlimited mileage warranty programme, and in the case of the 2.0 Hybrid, it also covers hybrid parts and the lithium-ion battery. Early birds also get to enjoy a two-year or 40,000 km Periodic Maintenance Service (whichever comes first). Now, let’s go through them one by one. Agree, because X-Trail design is indeed very modern. I’m sure that people who wanted to buy the X70 will most likely go for this instead. Moreover, the X-Trail also have an excellent quality and good RV

I have sat inside the facelift at the Starling Mall last weekend.
To be honest, the look of exterior is ok and can give X70 a good fight. For the interior, sorry to say X70 is miles ahead.

With that pricing then the X-trail cannot compete with the cheaper Proton X70.

Why is the base spec only 4 airbags? Cut cost and shortchange consumers?

I get the feeling that the base spec was meant to be sold as company and government vehicles…

Nissan is famous for giving RM8k discounts. After discounts, this 7 seater is more of less the same price as our Proton X70.

How come local Malaysian car made by our Malaysian National car company is SAME SAME price as a Japanese car? I thought Proton should be cheaper for Malaysians.

    • Proton have moved upmarket while Japanese has drop down to lower levels? Why is INFINITI similarly priced like the luxury Big 3 in Japan, shouldn’t it be cheaper for the Japanese customers?

    • I believe this mileage is good enough for an SUV type.
perhaps you may try with RON 97 or RON 100 to see if it makes any difference.

Everywhere else in the world, Nissan advertised their active-safety features as Nissan Pro-Pilot, except Malaysia. No one ever wonder why? Its 2021 now!
