Proton offers extra benefits worth up to RM3k for X70 buyers – applicable for purchases made in October

To go along with Proton’s latest sales performance announcement, the national carmaker also revealed that it would be offering additional benefits for those who purchase an X70 in October 2019.

These include a subsidised insurance package worth up to RM1,000 if you insure your new X70 with Proton’s panel of insurers as well as an overtrade incentive worth up to RM2,000.

As standard, every X70 purchased comes with a five-year/unlimited-mileage warranty, five times free labour service and five-year internet data package (1 GB a month).

The X70 is available in a total of four variants – Standard 2WD, Executive 2WD, Executive AWD and Premium 2WD – with prices ranging between RM99,800 and RM123,800 on-the-road without insurance.

All variants feature a 1.8 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 184 PS and 285 Nm, with drive going to the front or all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.

People are more confident in buying Japanese and Korean game changing SUVs like Honda CR-V, Nissan X-Trail, Mazda CX-5, Perodua Aruz, Kia Sportage and Hyundai Santa Fe. Since Proton X70 is from China, no wonder sales are falling

When sales went slow or didn’t not increase as per projected, only one way to go. Throw in freebies or gives discounts.

  • Too bad I have just booked on end of September..

By the way, I received my X70 two days back, very, very impressed with the car. For those who are interested, but with a little tight on budget, trust me, the Standard variant is super worth the money already. With RM99,800, you can be pretty sure that it is far better than other brands regardless of whether it is a Sedan, MPV, or SUV. I used to compare this way, which I was quite interested with Honda City highest spec before, and I remember it was priced around RM89,000 at the time, comparing to RM99,800, the gap is not so big, and I get a good quality SUV already, plus, the monthly installment does not really has any big different. Then, comparing to the lower spec SUV like Honda HRV, paying the full spec price for HRV does not able to convince me that this is a good idea, you know, X70 is bigger, more spacious, and much more stable.

I don’t mean to bash any other rival brands of Proton, but as a consumer, this is how I compare (I compare to brand other than Honda as well, but I try to avoid length sentence here).

its a great car. however if you are planning to save on fuel. be aware of the higher than average fuel consumption.
