The fourth-generation Honda Jazz was unveiled at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, featuring a thorough refresh of the popular B-segment hatchback. Check out this video to see just how much the new Jazz (badged as the Fit in Japan) has changed.
It’s clear that the all-new model takes inspiration from the first two generations of the Jazz, rather than the sharper, sportier third generation. Whether that’s good or bad, let us know what you think in the comments section below!
What has not changed, of course, is the Jazz’s heavy slant towards interior practicality and flexibility. It’s still the most spacious car in its class, and as Jlee reports, it now has better perceived interior quality too, with a more generous use of softer materials on the dashboard.
There are a lot of rumours suggesting that the latest Jazz won’t be coming to our shores, as its place will be taken by a “City Hatchback” instead, much like the close relationship between the Toyota Vios and Yaris here. True or not, we’ll have to wait and see. But what do you think – which approach would you prefer to have in Malaysia?

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Aduhaii kiut pussykat… we mesian’s lebey suke garang looking cars macem Civiketam & Myvi.
A more matured look than over-AhBengfied Myvi. This is a city car, not a racing car.
Agree!
Such a simple and beauty design! Proton must wake up and upgrade their game over Iriz ASAP since Iriz design is very uninspiring and boring.
The outgoing model is definitely more distinctive externally. I’m convinced that when it’s time to facelift the new model, they’ll add more external styling features to bring some distinctiveness back.
Nice walkaround but please, more “the”s and less “dee”s. TQ.
Doesn’t make economical sense when they already have the Jazz. Why develop another hatchback which will not sell in numbers when compared to the City?
Honda has several other models which are selling well in japan. There are always potential market other than Malaysia. China perhaps. Other in some countriees where Honda is highly loved like Canada
JDM name is Fit which is Jazz in out of Japan or Non JDM allowed markets
it’s new honda fit not new honda jazz.
Dugong Jazz… we are going back to 2007 while we are in 2020.
2nd row.. it’s still so tight. Cannot sit 3 ppl comfortably.
“Less sporty” is a good approach. Toyota has the “no acceleration” safety feature too.
I like your comment, ha…haha
The DCT is gone as fast as it appeared in the current hybrids of City & Jazz. That tells us how problematic this gearbox type no matter who made it. That tech is just flawed.
As of now, a DCT gearbox is used in the following Honda products: CRF1000L Africa Twin DCT, CRF1000L Africa Twin – Adventure Sports DCT, CRF1100L Africa Twin – Adventure Sports DCT, CRF1100L Africa Twin – Adventure Sports ES DCT, CRF1100L Africa Twin DCT, GL1800 GOLD WING Tour with DCT & Airbag, Integra 2019, NC750S DCT, NC750X DCT, Crosstourer DCT and X-ADV 2019.
You shall inform their engineering department about your findings.
Have you realised how many of these are bikes that most likely won’t be caught in a traffic jam start and stop traffic? Figures.
I didn’t know that the Jazz was designed for traffic jam and start and stop traffic only, sorry.
The side curvature now simply looks cheap. I don’t mind cute but not this one.
ugly
aduh fukboi cannot buy honda dy
The face looks like a Pokemon. I don’t mean it’s ugly, it’s fresh looking.
Is it myvi? Rather buy old jazz than dis baby dugong….
Quirky but nice.
I am looking forward to change my existing Jazz which is 5 years old and I think the new Jazz has make my decision easier to change to Yaris. The nose of the new Jazz is like the old Ford Telstar and is ugly.
ugly ,the old Jazz look much better.
Typical Japanese “futuristic robot” design face. I get where the Japanese designer is going but this only appeals to JDM market.
Do you guys realised that the Civic ketam design was from Honda USA? That’s why it’s appeal is more global. Rumours was the Japanese design team had other ideas, one more in line with Gundam, which again only appeals towards the JDM market.
Now it make sense Honda Msia will introduced 2020 City Hatchback instead of this JDM Jazz. Its kawai look does’nt suit our market taste.
