KINETA hits new milestone – 8,888 EV chargers sold

Electric vehicle (EV) charging solution provider KINETA has announced it has sold its 8,888th EV charger in Malaysia. The company, which was founded in January 2022 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sime Darby Berhad, previously reached a milestone of 6,888 chargers sold in late October last year. Before that, 3,888 units were sold, a milestone secured in February 2024.

At present, KINETA offers a range of AC and DC chargers for both commercial and residential customers, the latter covering both landed and high-rise buildings. Their all-in-one solution includes both supply and installation of chargers.

Additionally, the company also operates the KINETA Charge mobile app that enables EV drivers to conveniently navigate to chargers and pay for their charging session with a variety of flexible payment options. Corporate customers can also use the Charging Management System (CMS) module to customise their charger images, set variable pricing by location and promotional periods to reward users and allow custom generation of various management reports.

At the 4th Asia Automotive Awards (AAA), KINETA Malaysia & Hong Kong took home the ‘Automotive Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Excellence Award 2024’ for contributions to advancing end-to-end EV charging solutions and infrastructure, and in so doing, promoting sustainable transportation and reducing environmental impact.
