  • 2025 Honda X-ADV 750 gets updates, new colours

2025 Honda X-ADV 750 gets updates, new colours

Updated for the 2025 model year is the 2025 Honda X-ADV adventure scooter with improvements to low-speed handling. The X-ADV also goes environmentally friendly with the use of recycled material for the bodywork as well as Durabio biomass plastic for some fairing parts.

Other improvements include single hand operation of the Durabio windshield, with three levels of adjustment. The headlamps are redesigned, featuring new DRLs that double as turn signals and Honda’s ‘hidden eye’ technique that blacks out the area around the projector lenses, making the DRLs stand out.

The recycling concept is taken further with material from Honda vehicle bumpers used for the X-ADV’s luggage box and seat bottom with the seat using 10% more urethane for added comfort. The seat height is set at 820 mm, reshaped for easy ground reach, while the handlebar height is placed at 920 mm, for a high eye point and aiding rider vision.

A new five-inch full-colour TFT screen uses optical bonding to improve visibility in bright sunlight. The display is customisable between ‘Bar’, ‘Circle’ and ‘Simple’ display patterns and offers smartphone connectivity via the Honda RoadSync app.

Honda RoadSync allows on-screen turn-by-turn navigation as well as the option (via a Bluetooth helmet headset) of making calls, listening to music or receiving voice feedback of weather conditions. The new cruise control integrates with the X-ADV’s DCT gearbox and activated using the right hand switchgear, with ‘plus’, ‘minus’ and ‘resume’ set from the left.

Riding conveniences include Honda’s Smart Key, glove compartment in the front cowl, a 22-litre storage compartment under the seat, and includes a USB-C socket. Auto-cancelling turn signals are included, and controlled via calculation of front and rear wheel speed difference when turning instead of the usual timer.

The rear turn signals feature self-cancelling Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) function. If negative acceleration threshold is detected at a minimum speed of 53 km/h with either brake working, the hazard lights flash to warn other road users a hard stop is happening.

Throttle-by-wire gives four ride modes – Standard, Sport, Rain and Gravel – while a fifth User mode allows for custom settings for power delivery, engine braking, ABS and traction control. There are three levels of traction control (plus an ‘Off’ mode) with Level 1 allowing minimum intervention and some rear wheel spin while Level 3 is most aggressive and gives maximum control for slippery roads.

Changes to the X-ADV’s Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) see improvement in starting from standstill and control at low speed – under 10 km/h – especially for U-turns. The are five setting levels for the DCT Level 1 is the most relaxed while Level 4 shifts up at higher rpm and downshifts earlier for more engine braking effect. Level 2 is linked with the X-ADV’s Standard riding mode, while Level 3 is situated between Standard and Sport.

2025 Honda X-ADV 750 gets updates, new colours

For the Gravel riding mode the X-ADV uses a relatively sporty shifting pattern; this has the added functionality of a decreased level of ‘slip’ as the clutches operate from a fully open or closed throttle – to give the rider more direct feel for traction at the rear wheel, and the ability to perform controlled slides off road.

The 2025 X-ADV comes in three colour options for Europe – Pearl Glare White, Matte Deep Mud Grey and Graphite Black. There is also a special edition X-ADV with dual-tone Matte Gold Finch Yellow paintwork.

  • 2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak – the adventure-touring motorcycle that identifies as a sports bike

2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak – the adventure-touring motorcycle that identifies as a sports bike

While motorcycles no longer race the legendary Pikes Peak International Hillclimb in the US, that hasn’t stopped Ducati from releasing the 2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak. Calling it a “crossover” the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak takes the 2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 adventure-tourer as its basis and fits 17-inch forged wheels and performance tyres.

Underscoring its racing origins, the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak comes in livery inspired by Ducati’s MotoGP racing machines. This includes number plates on the side panels and on the windshield, making reference to the Pikes Peak race.

The racing design continues into the low, smoked plexiglass windshield, road-legal Akrapovic exhaust muffler and gold anodised fork legs. Carbon-fibre components on the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak are complemented by the Ducati Corse logo on the front beak and the “V4” logo on the seat.

2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak – the adventure-touring motorcycle that identifies as a sports bike

Suspension is electronic semi-active, done with Ohlins Smart EC2.0. Like the Panigale V4 S and Streetfighter V4 S, the suspension on the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak uses “event based” logic based on the rider’s riding style with Track, Dynamic, Comfort or Low Grip suspension modes, switchable on the fly regardless of which riding mode is currently selected.

Reflecting its sporty nature, the Pikes Peak Multistrada comes with an up-and-down quick shifter and three-level engine braking control. Ergonomics are also different from the standard Multistrada V4, the Pikes Peak coming with higher and more rearward footpegs to increase maximum lean angle, with lower, narrower handlebars fitted for a more aggressive seating position.

Specific to the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is Race Riding Mode. This lets the rev limiter come in a little more gradually than on the Multistrada V4, giving the rider advance notice of when the engine rev limit is being approached and allowing for more effective gear changes at high speed.

  • 2024 Aprilia RSV4 X ex3ma race replica comes with ground effect aerodynamics – RM376,433

    2024 Aprilia RSV4 X ex3ma race replica comes with ground effect aerodynamics – RM376,433

With a face only a stormtrooper’s mother could love, here is the limited edition 2024 Aprilia RSV4 X ex3ma superbike. Touted as a “the bike that most closely delivers the riding experience of a modern MotoGP machine” the RSV4 X ex3ma is priced at 80,000 euro (RM376,433) with only 30 units being made for online purchase.

The ex3ma is the latest in a series of limited edition Aprilia track ready super bikes, following on from the Aprilia RSV4 Xtrenta and the Aprilia RSV4 X. IN Malaysia, the RSV4 X retailed at a price of RM183,000.

Aside from a name that sounds like an unfortunate skin condition, the ex3ma (ex-tre-ma, or extreme) comes with aerodynamic ground effects bodywork, developed by Aprilia’s efforts in MotoGP racing. The front wing is lifted off Aprilia’s MotoGP bike, measures 550 mm wide and generates five times more downforce than the previous Aprilia X Thirty.

The shape of sides of the fairing uses the differential air pressure between the ex3ma and the tarmac when cornering, increasing tyre grip. The MotoGP style front wing along with the “spoon” fairing located in front of the rear tyre and the cornering wings on the front mudguard also increase aerodynamic efficiency.

Made entirely out of carbon-fibre, the fairing is crafted by PAN Compositi using the same method of construction as the fairings used on Aprilia’s RS-GP 24 MotoGP racing motorcycle. The Perla Black finish draws inspiration from Aprilia’s racing history and pays tribute to the RS 250 race bike which brought Max Biaggi to three world championships from 1994 to 1996.

Carrying Aprilia 65-degree V-four engine with a displacement of 1099 cc, the ex3ma gets 230 hp at 13,500 rpm and 131 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm, the engine itself having a 13,900 rpm redline. This is done with specific tuning of the V-four, with higher compression ratio, a high-permeability Sprint air filter, and SC Project exhaust system with titanium headers and twin tailpipes.

All this is tied together with Aprilia’s APX ECU integrated data acquisition system. The APX system enables precise calibration of wheelie control, power, traction control, and engine braking for each gear, all adjustable on the fly, or using the software in the Yashi laptop included in the purchase.

The RSV4 X ex3ma is fitted with carbon-fibre rims, reducing weight and unsprung mass, simultaneously enhancing handling, acceleration, and braking performance. The rims are fitted with Pirelli racing slicks in the Superbike World Championship, SC1 front in 125/70) and SCX rear in 200/65 sizing.

Other performance bits include oversized water and oil coolers, made to racing specifications by Taleo Tecnoracing. Performance is further enhanced with a final drive with titanium crown, lightened sprocket by PBR, and an RK racing chain.

There is also the right handlebar switch, a racing component by Jetprime, adjustable footpegs, clutch lever, steering plate engraved with the model’s serial number, tank cap, engine casing, and front brake lever guards crafted from billet aluminium. Lucky buyers of the RSV4 X ex3ma will have the unique opportunity to collect their bike at Aprilia Racing in Noale, Italy.

This also includes an exclusive visit to the Aprilia Racing Division. In addition to their limited and numbered RSV4, customers will receive a Yashi laptop, personalised bike cover, dedicated carpet, and a rear stand.

  • 2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 and V4 S world reveal

    2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 and V4 S world reveal

Covers have been taken off the 2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 and V4S adventure-touring motorcycles. This follows the unveiling of the seventh generation Ducati Panigale V4 at World Ducati Week in Misano, Italy last July.

The boys from Borgo Panigale say the new Multidtrada has better fuel efficiency, increased passenger comfort and automatic suspension lowering. This list of upgrades continues with the new Skyhook EVO suspension and upgraded electronic management for the braking system, improving safety and increasing the fun factor of the Multistrada V4.

Bodywork sees a makeover as well with the front end of the Multistrada redesigned to it bring closer to the style to the new Panigale V4. This is done with twin headlight elements framed by new painted bodywork reminiscent of the Ducati 916 and Ducati Panigale 1098.

The 1,158 cc V4 Granturismo engine is now Euro 5+ homologated, with no decrease in performance. Ducati says the Granturismo V-four mill pumps out 170 hp at 10,750 rpm and 123.8 Nm at 9,000 rpm with the torque curve kept linear to ensure smooth and progressive throttle response at all engine speeds.

    2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 and V4 S world reveal

Rear cylinder bank deactivation is included in the Multistrada V4 for heat management and fuel efficiency. In addition to switching off the rear cylinders when the bike is stationary and the engine is idling, the V4 Granturismo engine keeps the rear bank deactivated in other riding conditions, decreasing fuel consumption by 6% compared to the previous generation Multistrada V4.

Improvements in the Multistrada V4 S’s semi-active suspension with Skyhook DSS EVO include a new sensor mounted on the front fork. This allows predictive functions such as bump detection, allowing the system to adapt rear suspension response to rough road conditions in real time.

With self-levelling function, this guarantees a constant suspension setup in “rider”, “rider and passenger” and “luggage” modes, which can be switched on the fly regardless of riding mode. This lets the rider optimise greater comfort in relaxed riding or more support when tackling the curves using the dedicated suspension setup button.

The new Automatic Lowering Device makes rider handling of the Multistrada V4 easier when stationary and at low speed. The Automatic Lowering Device lowers the Multistrada rapidly, with a variation of up to 30 mm, and automatically when the speed drops below 10 km/h.

Upon acceleration exceeding 50 km/h, the Multistrada V4 automatically returns to its optimum riding height based. The system works automatically and can be deactivated by the rider.

Passenger comfort is increased with the top box and panniers moved back in the sub-frame to offer more space for the passenger’s legs. The new die-cast aluminium support for the top box offers the passenger better support and there is an optional selection of seat heights for both rider and pillion, as well as a suspension lowering kit.

    2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 and V4 S world reveal

The 2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 is perhaps the most sophisticated adventure-touring motorcycle in the world, with an electronics suite and includes a six-axis IMU being fed data by 70 sensors. First production motorcycle to come equipped with front and rear radar to support Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Blind Spot Detection (BSD), the Multistrada V4 now gets Forward Collision Warning (FCW) which warns of potential collisions via a warning on the 6.5-inch TFT-LCD instrument panel.

There is also the new DVO (Ducati Vehicle Observer) function, making the Multistrada V4 safer and more efficient due to electronic controls that act with greater precision. developed by Ducati Corse in MotoGP, this allows for ABS Cornering, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and Ducati Traction Control (DTC), three levels of EBC (Engine Brake Control) and Electronic Combined Braking.

The last modulates braking action on the front and rear brakes to guarantee ideal stopping performance based on road conditions and load. Aside from front-to-rear braking proportion, which manages the rear brake even when only using the front control, the 2025 Multistrada V4 comes with a rear-to-front brake bias that optimises braking power when only using the rear brake.

    2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 and V4 S world reveal

There are now five riding modes on the Multistrada V4 with Enduro mode considerably revised and introduction of Wet mode, designed for wet surfaces and reduced grip. Selecting Enduro mode activates a dedicated Power mode limiting power to 114 hp specific for off-road use with DWC and rear wheel ABS deactivated while cornering function and rear wheel lift-up detection are inhibited.

The Multistrada V4 with the new Sport Travel & Radar and Adventure Travel & Radar trims, which are added to the current Radar and Travel & Radar packages. The Sport trim adds panniers and forged wheels, reducing weight by 2 kg, while the Adventure trim comes with aluminium panniers and spoked wheels.

Speaking to paultan.org previously in 2021, Azlan at the time said he intended to race for two or three more years before hanging up his helmet. Asked about his future plans, Azlan said he is considering opening a race school, amongst other ways of giving back to two-wheel motorsport.

13 youth held by traffic police, made to attend sermon

13 youth in Kuala Lumpur, ranging in age from 14 to 19 years, were detained by Kuala Lumpur traffic police (JSPT) in a dawn operation. Aside from being brought to the police station to answer for their offences, the youth were then made to attend a sermon after dawn prayers.

In the early hours of Sunday, 13 youth were brought to the Jalan Tun H S Lee station to have their particulars recorded after being stopped by JSPT. “After documentation, all the youth were given motivation by attending the morning prayer and sermon at the Surau An Nazahah, JSPT KL,” said Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa in a JSPT KL social media post.

According to ACP Zamzuri, religion is one of the methods used to overcome the menace of motorcycle hooligans in the city. “It is hoped exposure to religion for teenagers will help their hearts and minds to be noble. Parents are also encouraged to pay attention to their children’s activities as road users, especially teenagers, to avoid any incidents on the road,” added ACP Zamzuri.

Voge RR660S in China market – four-cylinder, 663 cc, middleweight sportsbike, coming to Malaysia soon

For China, the Voge RR660S sportsbike makes its debut and from information received, Malaysian riders will get a taste as well. A name first seen in Malaysia last May with the underbone Voge FR (Formica Rossa) 150, Voge is better known in China as a brand under the Loncin manufacturing group.

Under Loncin, Voge has connections with BMW Motorrad and supplies engines for certain models. According to distributor MForce Holdings, the RR660S is slated to enter the Malaysia market next year, in 2025.

For the RR660S, Voge’s offering to the middleweight sportsbike market, power comes from a 663 cc, inline-four cylinder engine producing 99.2 hp at 11,500 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. This lines the RR660S directly against the Kawasaki ZX-636 and the Honda CBR600R, as well as the CFMoto 675SR-R and the Triumph Daytona 660, plus the Aprilia RS660.

Brembo supplies the braking for the RR660S, with twin callipers on the front wheel. Suspension is non-adjustable, with 43 mm diameter upside-down forks in front and monoshock in the rear.
