2007 Honda Civic MUGEN Si Sedan (USDM)

usdmcivicsi1.jpg

This special Honda Civic tuned by MUGEN was displayed at the 2006 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, and is planned to be put into production - 500 units a year, a small amount considering how big the US market is.

The MUGEN Honda Civic Si Sedan is equipped with an improved high performance suspension system, 18 inch MUGEN forged aluminum GP wheels weighing , a MUGEN bodykit, and a sports exhaust system, obviously all MUGEN original parts. Being an official Honda tuner, the car will also come with a factory warranty.

The MUGEN high performance suspension is a track tuned version, tested at the Twin Ring Motegi racing circuit in Japan, lowers the vehicle by 0.6 inches with aggressive spring and damper tuning, which MUGEN says still delivers an acceptable level of comfort. Both bump and rebound front and rear damping force was increased between 8- and 24-percent, depending on condition.

The 18 inch MUGEN forged aluminium wheels are 27 percent lighter than the Civic Si Sedan’s stock 17 inch wheels, at 7.5kg. The wheels are wrapped with BF Goodrich g-Force KDW tyres in 215/40/ZR18 size.

MUGEN’s sports exhaust system reduces backpressure, improving the power curve of the Civic Si Sedan’s high revving K20 i-VTEC engine, which makes 200hp in stock form.

In line with the limited production of the MUGEN Honda Civic Si Sedan, each car will have a serial number located on the instrument panel. More photos after the jump.

Has anybody come across USDM front headlights & bumper available in the local aftermarket? The front looks aggressive & sharp, just like the odyssey. A crowd puller.

Wah, it is a 6-speed manual gears car!!!! Great.
Believe that Honda could break into the arena of sedan sport cars, and fight with Mitsu EVO and Subaru Impreza STi.

Anyway, the front look not enough “garang”, may be need remove the black panel and replace with grill would make it!! ^_^

I still prefer the JDM Mugen Civic got more ‘kick’ than USDM. The front grile much better than the USDM one. Check it out guys.

I heard Honda Malaysia is preparing some Mugen kitted Civics for sale soon. Basically the local version 2.0 with bodykit, wheels and maybe a certificate?

I doubt that Honda will have turbo fitted on its cars. It is the world of N/A and Honda has all it needs to compete with turbo-charged vehicle. FYI, the strict emmission law actually forbids some turbo-charged vechile to be available in US. :D

indigo: then how do you explain the 2.3 liter i-vtec turbo they developed?

Oo.. Hot indeed. But i still prefer the Dominator. Too bad it’s just a concept.

why not just wait for the type r?

even though this one would be rarer. or problably different markets.

civic needs to move on. the competition has already raised the bar.

need to compete with the gti. performance and comfort in a sleek expensive looking body. give us the accord euro type body with the turbo engine and maybe shawd if u can afford it.

and the new vw gti is not far off from debuting. subaru and mazda already have thiers out.

there is no civic type r for the us market. in the us market, its called the civic si.

Looks great overall but I think the grill could be better. This is rather “tame” for Mugen. The JDM version would have round it up nicely.

wow….damn nice….phewww!! even put 18′ wheels it looks like 17′ only..yeah love the tail lights i beleive current civic owner’s will looking for that..yeahh..!!

too big and bulky, the car is even larger than a 3series. the civic seems more like a cruiser than a trackday machine like performance hondas of old.

but if this car is ever sold here or a car with similar spec at least, i’m pretty sure the price will be right up there with the E90 325i, in the region of RM250K.

Yeah…local assembly ones…..HM should solve the tuk tuk sound first in the front and bonnet issue.

The outlook can be wonderful…….once those passenger take a lift in the car…..wah why so many funny sounds coming from the front, the pillar ……..it actually a put off.

being an everyday bread and butter econocar the civic has to grow in dimension. only problem with civic vti is that its outdone by the accord euro base version in every way.

one thing is for sure. US gets thier cars dirt cheap. if many of us were working there, im sure most will skip the civic for sure.
