Very good approach for an advertisement to demonstrate the potency of the Volkswagen Twincharged 1.4 Golf GT.

Although displacement is only 1.4 liters, a supercharger and turbocharger are used sequentially to power it from 0-62 mpg in just 7.9 seconds. Not bad compared to the Golf GTI's 7.2 second time.

This makes for an economical yet powerful package at a more affordable pricetag.

Actually, the Golf 1.4TSI pumps out 170hp and 239Nm (coming in at a low 1750rpm). It still returns 39.2mpg.

The Touran will come with a 140hp variant.

nice commercial, but in reality hatchbacks are not selling well in UK now, not sure if this will stop that trend

    "Woah!!! I couldn’t believe 1.4L to produce 140hp until i read this post…"

    100hp/litre isn't that big a deal for forced induction engines … e.g. the EVO FQ400 … 400hp from 2 litres= 200hp/litre, and you haven't even taken into account the 3rd-party extreme modders who squeeze 700hp from a 2.5L engine …

But did you see that comparison between a Skoda and the FQ400 when they compared rolling start in 5th gear? After 1.4 miles the EVO still can't overtake. You won't have that issue with the Golf GT.
