VIDEO: MINI 50th birthday celebration song

MINI Birthday

MINI is officially 50 years and 1 day old today, and BMW AG celebrated the MINI brand’s “birthday” yesterday with a celebration video that you will find after the jump. And of course their other present to the brand would be the new MINI Coupe Concept. In your opinion, do you consider MINI a continuation of the old school Mini? Or something completely new altogether that’s only a few years old now? Is MINI 50 years old or is Mini 50 years old? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Definitely its a continuation of the Mini spirit. Although the MINI now is bigger and costier, but the spirit of owning a Mini remained in the hearts of thousand or even millions of Mini fans worldwide.

The new Mini is absolutely a german version to reincarnated the old minies. The old one is a mjor breakthrough; 1. the first front wheel drive car 2. a cult and practical small car. Nice to say the new Mini is absolutely an entry level model for BMW.

The original Mini became a motoring icon when it rolled off the BMC factory in '59. Note that it was marketed under few names throughout it's history, Austin, Morris and Rover.

Today, we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Mini Marque/Brand..

The new MINI is just a continuation of the brand but I dont think it comes anywhere near the original Mini.

give respect to Mini, especially Cooper. Why? because it is a fashion icon. The car have been experience a lot of eras, pop yeah-yeah, "Bettles", 60s, 70s, 80, Bean and also modern. Imagine a brand can survive very long, 5o years long. The quality of the car is awesome, Japanese, Germanic, American, or even Malaysian car brands can't be compare with Mini……. Hope another 50 years more, Mini will consider to build 4 doors sedan……

  • Yes, a continuation. I sense the spirit is still there, if only the price is affordable here..

and what a nice video n song to commemorate it! Totally mod with Paul Weller & The Jam (if you follow the mod/punk scene back in the 70s, you would know this song)!
