Bizarre doesn’t even start to explain this one. We now have the first pictures of an officially sanctioned BMW M8, but it’s not what you think it is. It’s not even a car; it’s a PC case. This is no joke – it wouldn’t be funny if it was, anyway.
The “ultimate gaming beast” – their words, not ours – was designed by BMW Group DesignworksUSA for Taiwanese tech company ASRock, and will be launched later this month at the COMPUTEX fair in Taipei. That it’s allowed to be named the M8 spells out blasphemy on so many levels.
We wouldn’t bore you with the tech specs. Suffice to say it’s designed to be the “Superlative PC concept” and is targeted at gamers who can or will want to anticipate the power of their PC through the design before switching it on. We are not making any of this up – we’re not that creative!
To keep this article vaguely car-related, a real M8 supercar could still be a reality if BMW decides to make a true blue M version of the recent 8 Series-previewing BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe. If that happens, BMW could even bundle it with this PC case and we’d still consider them our mate. Or should we say, M8?
