Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class teased through sketches

Mercedes-Benz has posted teaser sketches on its Facebook page of the production GLA-Class crossover that’s scheduled to debut next month in Frankfurt.

The idea for an A-Class-based high-rider first materialised in the handsome GLA Concept, which turned up at Auto Shanghai last April.

The concept featured twin tailpipes, bumper protection plates and 20-inch alloys encased in 255/45 rubber. It had a 211 hp turbocharged 2.0 litre four-cylinder petrol engine, a seven-speed twin-clutch ‘box and 4MATIC.

We’ve shown you quite a number of spyshots and spy videos of the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, including the king-of-the-hill GLA 45 AMG, which is rumoured to draw 360 hp and 450 Nm of torque from a turbocharged 2.0 litre four-cylinder engine. It should get AMG’s twin-clutch six-speeder and 4MATIC, too.

While most dream of the future, Jonathan Tan dreams of the past, although he's never been there. Fantasises much too often about cruising down Treacher Road (Jalan Sultan Ismail) in a Triumph Stag that actually works, and hopes this stint here will snap him back to present reality.

    Cantiq.
Giant wheels, relative to the body & height.
Do not downspec the wheel/tyre size.
