VIDEO: 2016 Toyota Innova interior gets showcased

The 2016 Toyota Innova was launched in Indonesia almost a month ago, where it is known as the Toyota Kijang Innova there. As the second-generation model, the new Innova undergoes a significant overhaul that includes a new exterior and interior design, the latter of which is the focus of this promotional video.

Featured here is the Toyota Kijang Innova in its range-topping Q Type spec. Inside, there are two captain seats upholstered in fabric with a “zebra-like” pattern, each with its own cabin trays.

The video then shows us a glimpse of the Innova’s new dashboard layout, occupied by an eight-inch touchscreen entertainment system, which has an impressive array of inputs including Miracast and HDMI. Lastly, we’re shown the LED cabin illumination lights that provide a more premium feel to the popular MPV.

In its Q Type specification, the Innova packs either a 2.0 litre Dual VVT-i 1TR-FE four-cylinder petrol engine (139 PS/ 183 Nm) or Toyota’s new 2GD-FTV 2.4 litre four-cylinder turbodiesel that debuted on the Hilux, with 149 PS and 359 Nm of torque.

The engines are mated to either a six-speed automatic or five-speed manual gearbox. In fact, the four possible powertrain combinations – diesel MT/AT and petrol MT/AT are available for all other variants of the Kijang Innova as well, including the Type G and Type V.

The Innova also gains some impressive features like LED projector headlights with LED DRLs, “Smart Close Back Door”, seven airbags, Hill Assist Control and VSC electronically stability control. Unfortunately, these features are standard only on the diesel Q Type, while the other variants may miss out on some of them.

Does the new 2016 Toyota Innova impress? What features would you like the MPV to come with when it makes its way to our shores? Let us know in the comments below.

Digital aircon is on V and Q trim and telescopic steering is a standard across the range. Did you see the images clearly? Manual aircon only for G.

In Indonesia we get more strip-off, or people call it “sunat fitur”. I guess Malaysia would get more features as we can see now.

Interior got showcased – only dumb things
    here’s why
1)instrument panel-too elegant coz using analog aircond
2)led illumination – go to abeng shop & install it
3)cabin tray ‘exclusive’ – yeah very exclusive

#boring even basic simple thing become their main selling point. mehhhh

Hope all variants can get 7 air bags, and it will be perfect if it comes with sliding doors.

Hopefully Q spec Diesel will come to Malaysia with affordability price bracket. I believe with this combination it will have an outstanding sales figure for Toyota Malaysia

  • Want to hear us? Challenge accepted. There’s no way UMW would loike to fulfill our ‘wish’ btw. Fak 7 airbag, fak Diesel engine, fak everything. For a car priced above Rm100k, we got faked. What? Our life is that cheap meh? Nevermind, they didnt really care. They still can make profit with the aid from moronic buyer. Due to promising RV for sure.
