SPYSHOTS: Mercedes-AMG E63 sheds more camo

Spy-Photo

Yet again, spy photographers in Europe have managed to catch a glimpse of the coming Mercedes-AMG E 63. Hard at work, this power-packed version of the E-Class was spotted in Spain, wearing a slightly less camouflage than we’ve seen before.

The shape of the front bumper is now apparent here, showing off its signature AMG A-wing design and large air intakes. The wheel arches also appear a lot larger than the standard version. And with the new W213 E-Class already revealed in full, this AMG wastes no time trying to cover up its front and rear lighting either.

Where styling is concerned, it seems like there’s very little difference between this E 63 and its C 63 sibling. Apart from the items mentioned above, the quad exhaust tips, rear boot spoiler and overall silhouette appear very similar. It is only apparent that the E-Class is a larger vehicle.

For power, we know from several reports now that the next-gen E 63 will get the same 4.0 litre biturbo V8 engine featured in the C 63 and AMG GT. However, the M178’s application here could be in the most powerful state we’ve ever seen it yet – reports suggest that the higher-tune ’S’ version could have up to 600 hp.
