Volkswagen up! facelift unveiled with new 1.0 TSI mill

Volkswagen up! facelift 6

The facelifted Volkswagen up! has been unveiled ahead of its world premiere at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show – the Teutonic city car gets a smattering of visual updates inside and out, added equipment, a new turbo engine as well as a new special edition model in collaboration with headphone maker BeatsAudio.

Exterior changes are limited to reprofiled bumpers, new headlights with standard LED daytime running lights, built-in cornering lights in the fog lights, new mirrors with integrated indicators, revised tail light graphics and a new diffuser insert. Completing the makeover are new wheels and colour choices – the latter being Teal Blue, Coral Red, Costa Azul (blue), Honey Yellow, Edelweiss (white), Blueberry and Savanna Gold.

Revisions to the interior are equally minor, with a new front dashboard panel with a revised centre control panel and new colour and decor choices, as well as a new seat designs. For the first time on the up!, a flat-bottomed multifunction steering wheel, Pure Air Climatronic auto air-con and ambient lighting are being offered, as is a Light and Sight package with welcome and follow-me-home lights as well as auto wipers.

Volkswagen has also revised the infotainment systems on the up!, with a base Composition radio/CD player with a 3.1-inch monochrome display, as well as a Composition Phone system with a 5.0-inch colour display and Bluetooth connectivity. Options include DAB+ digital radio, six speakers and a USB port in the centre console, while the Composition Phone system adds a reverse camera option for the first time on the up!.

Smartphone connectivity has also been upgraded with the new Maps + More dock for the Composition Phone system, which can integrate current smartphones running Android or iOS. It adds offline navigation, multi-info vehicle data display, Think Blue Trainer fuel economy guide and E-charging Manager (for the e-up!) functionality to the mix, along with the usual telephony, radio and media features.

Not enough? You can opt for the up! beats model with a 300-watt BeatsAudio sound system that adds an eight-channel amplifier with a digital signal processor (DSP) as well as seven speakers, including a subwoofer in the boot.

This model also gets special trinkets to distinguish it from its lesser brethren, including new 15-inch alloy wheels, special decals, contrasting colour door mirror caps, a unique dash panel, door sill plates, colour-coordinated seat belts and standard smartphone integration and white ambient lighting.

Under the bonnet, a new 1.0 litre turbocharged TSI three-cylinder engine joins the range, developing 90 PS and 160 Nm. With a standard five-speed manual, the up! 1.0 TSI sprints from 0-100 km/h in 10 seconds before reaching a top speed of 185 km/h, while fuel economy is quoted at 4.4 litres per 100 km.

Elsewhere, the existing 60 PS and 75 PS 1.0 litre naturally-aspirated MPI engines, 82 PS electric e-up! and 68 PS natural gas eco up! models have been retained, as is a five-speed automatic option.

Those days VW owners come here and kutuk all other brands. Look down on every other car. Kutuk gila gila. Say people poor lah and all that and cannot afford their cars.

Now the truth is out. Not only got so many lies, don’t know what other new lies are going to crop up.

Everything also lie. Even their warranty also lie. Actually only 2 years real maufacturers warranty. The remaining 3 years is insurance warranty and so many people say claims are turned down.

So, even warranty also they lie. I would not dare commit so much money on a company that lies.
