Nissan models to cost 3-6% more in mid-2016 – ETCM

Nissan NP300 Navara 8

During a segment on Buletin Utama, Datuk Dr Ang Bon Beng, executive director of Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has revealed that prices of all Nissan models will increase between 3-6% in mid-2016.

The announcement comes following an earlier statement back in October 15, where the company was mulling a price increase in light of the ringgit’s depreciation. For now, we have not been supplied with a detailed price list, which shows the hike for each individual model currently offered by ETCM, so stay tuned.

Nissan now joins other Japanese carmakers – Honda, Toyota and Lexus, all of which has had its vehicle prices hiked within the recent months. Even local carmakers are feeling the pinch from the unfavourable foreign exchange, with Proton announcing a price hike recently as well.

Market already slowdown amid increasing number of unemployment, bank interest increased, strict bank loan approval and now price increase. Then, good luck to TCM salesmen. Prepare to eat white bread or plain rice for sometime.

  • Bmw and merc increase sales by decreasing price while japs and local manufacturers increase sales by increasing price. Does this dirty tactic really work??

exactly this is the ridiculous situation all cuased by the inefficient car agencies. please. if any subsidies are given they should first be given to the CAYBUYER. not the damned COMPANY who might or might not pass it on to his consumers. and it is plain stupidity to give incentives to any car over the 50-60k mark. those at that level do not need the freaking subsidy.

Real increase or fake increase, I believe we are all so used to ETCM “price increase later” sales talk. Whenever new model launch, I went to ETCM showroom, from Latio to Teana, salesman always say price going to increase later.

p/s: Not to mention most are confused with VTC, CVT, CVTC.

When Ringgit was strong, no price reduction, when Ringgit weaker a bit, price increase 8-10%. Bloody hell no wonder all car salesman living like a richman from all their commissions.

When the buying stops, they will start to rot.

Car sales showroom will be strictly showroom for exhibits…..since sales will be zero for TCM.

Of course, there will be sohai still willing to buy expensive cars, becoz FAMA sponsor. After that, they will be crying coughing out money paying monthly installment. Happy Purchasing, Nissan.

Not only TCM, car sales showroom becoming showroom just for exhibits already happen to Protaik and also Toyotaik. Those walk-in customers (especially Toyotaik one), all taik salesman will not promote, instead just beg their customers to buy their taik jamban cars while badmouthing all other cars (old habits die hard).
