Vorsteiner-BMW-i8-Black-4a

Straight off the factory floor, the BMW i8 is a head-turning automobile in its own right, with bedroom poster desirability and eco-credentials in equal measure. Tuning house Vorsteiner has form with BMW’s past, and it is one of very few that have decided to render its take on the mid-engined, plug-in hybrid sportscar.

Vorsteiner’s package for the i8 is so far limited to the exterior, albeit an aerodynamics-enhancing bodykit, it claims. At the front of the car, an extended and lowered front splitter is installed, while at the rear a carbon-fibre diffuser complements the addition at the front, together adding downforce and stability.

The BMW i8’s 362 hp, 1.5 litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol plug-in hybrid powertrain appears untouched by Vorsteiner’s work, though the i8 rolls on a set of three-piece forged alloy wheels with grey spokes and silver outer rims, with lowered suspension to complement the bodykit. Rounding off the customisation is the replacement of the i8’s original blue accents with black trim for a blacked-out look.
