At long last, the latest instalment in BMW Film’s The Hire series – The Escape – is finally here, and it is an excellent “perk-me-up” for the day.
Clive Owen returns once again as “the Driver,” the original driver for hire before Jason Statham starred in The Transporter. Like before, he’s behind the wheel of a BMW vehicle for his latest job, and this time, it is the brand-new G30 BMW 5 Series, a 540i nonetheless.
Other cast members include Dakota Fanning, who plays the mysterious Lily, Jon Bernthal as Holt, and Vera Farmiga as Dr. Nora Phillips.
We won’t spoil the plot much here, but as the short film is directed by Neill Blomkamp of District 9 and Elysium fame, it has a sci-fi theme to it. Plot aside, there’s plenty of adrenaline-pumping action, stunts, gunfire, helicopter-pulling and many other things that will keep you glued to the screen.
So, if you have 11 minutes to spare today, The Escape is certainly something you wouldn’t want to miss.

Proton, take note. This is how you make a car action video.
And how much again, to hire a Hollywood (not Bollywood) action star?
Has it been 10 years?
Too long. Missed the series
Just one thing. Hopefully there will be no “engine” sound note from the car speakers.
That is some big budget stuff right there!
