Nissan Terra SUV set for second half 2018 Thai launch

We’ve already seen the first official images of the new Nissan Terra, which is set to make its world debut soon in China. The Terra is a pick-up truck-based seven-seater SUV that competes with the Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu D-Max and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport; which makes it a perfect fit for Thailand and ASEAN.

It will indeed be made and sold in Thailand, according to the Bangkok Post. The Navara-based PPV (pick-up passenger vehicle) is expected to reach Thai showrooms in the second half of this year after its expected debut at the Beijing Auto Show.

The Terra should share powertrains with the Navara NP300, which is powered a YD25DDTi 2.5 litre turbodiesel and seven-speed automatic or six-speed manual. There’s also a twin-turbo 2.3 litre diesel (used in Western markets) available should Nissan opt for it.

As for the interior, the released official image shows a dashboard that’s similar to the Navara’s. This would be a good addition to Nissan’s Malaysian range too, as a rival to the local Fortuner, which is also imported from Thailand. Like what you see?

It’s sad and frustrating to see our neighbors getting all the latest cars and SUVs. Have Malaysia really been left behind by that much? This is indeed a worrying sign of the future of our country’s economy. Sigh!!!

At least ETCM makes money and clean profit every year. What is Tido is Proton…..outdated models, sales so bad and losing money daily

        • Makes money and clean profit? Where did u get that?
‘Tan Chong’s net losses widened by 44% from 2016 to RM81.6mil, while revenue dropped by 21.8% to RM3.3bil during that period. Analysts expect it to record another year of loss for the whole of FY17.’

Lets see how big the cargo space is when all three rows are up.
I think ford everest raptor with 2 litre engine may qualify for tax reduction due to it being labelled as eco friendly.

  • where is nissan sylphy facelift as per facelifted nissan sentra 2016 (left hand drive)? never be seen in Japan and Thailand either. Is there no plan at all for Sylphy facelift? Nissan, did you plan to introduce all new model for it without any facelift?

    • Sylphy facelift exist in USA but ETCM pulled that model out.

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
      • Not only ETCM pulled that model out, Nissan as well. Nissan don’t even care to produce the right hand drive facelifted B16 sylphy as the market is too small or they are just lazy. There is no facelifted right hand drive sylphy all over the world (Japan, Thailand, Philippine and Singapore).
