Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) today revealed its updated service pricing guide, in line with the government’s decision to set the goods and services tax (GST) rate at 0% from 6% beginning June 1. This goes hand in hand with the company’s revision of its price list for Volkswagen models sold in Malaysia.
As an example, the 12-month/15,000 km service for a Polo 1.6 was previously RM452.94, but without GST, is now RM427.30. The same scenario applied to the Tiguan 1.4 TSI will see customers paying RM503.10 instead of RM533.29. The service pricing guide serves as a reference for owners in understanding the maintenance cost of their cars over a certain period of time, and includes figures for parts and labour.
Currently, all Volkswagen models come with a free three-year or 45,000 km (whichever comes first) maintenance programme, in addition to the five-year warranty and five-year roadside assistance.
Erik Winter, managing director of VPCM, encouraged owners whose Volkswagen cars are due for their service to make an appointment at their respective service centres and to take advantage of the 0% tax holiday. “Our commitment to our customers extends to our efforts in maintaining a strong level of transparency when it comes to owning a Volkswagen car, hence the availability of the service pricing guide,” he added.
If you’re looking for a comprehensive list of the service pricing guide, they can be found on Volkswagen Malaysia’s official website.
