The G07 BMW X7 is almost ready to reveal itself but before its official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, there’s always the obligatory teaser to be shown first. Here it is, and what we are looking at is the SUV’s front and, which is rather imposing but remains rather true to the Concept X7 iPerformance that was put on display in Bangsar a few months ago.

Design cues visible include a pair of sizeable kidney grilles that are flanked by slim headlamps with the brand’s trademark hexagonal “corona ring” daytime running lights. The bonnet also sports some creases, while the lower apron features a chrome trim piece that isn’t unlike what you see on the concept.

Curiously, photos released by BMW of pre-production models being built at the company’s SUV plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina show a different approach with said trim piece. Whether it is a case of different equipment packages, we’ll have to wait to find out.

As for the rest of the vehicle, piecing together spyshots and patent images reveal other features such as Air Breather vents along the sides, L-shaped taillights with a chrome strip between them, dual exhaust outlets and a panoramic sunroof.

The interior meanwhile, contains elements from the latest Z4 and 8 Series like the digital instrument display and infotainment screen that is powered by Operating System (OS) 7.0. The layout appears to be quite similar to the G05 X5 although as the brand’s flagship SUV model, expect more premium materials to be used.

Based on the four headrests we can see in the teaser, this version of the three-row SUV could come with six seats fitted, where two individual seats occupy the second row instead of a bench. A seven-seater option will also be offered but it remains to be seen if there will be an ultra-luxurious four-seat variant.

Under the skin, the X7 rides on the brand’s CLAR (Cluster Architecture) platform with air suspension being available. A mix of petrol and diesel engines will also be on the cards, which will then be followed by high-performance and plug-in hybrid choices.
