The BMW X7 SUV is now open for booking in Malaysia

The boss of The Boss, the all-new and first ever BMW X7, is now open for booking. BMW Malaysia released the post you see above on Facebook yesterday, and changed their page’s cover video to feature the X7. There’s a link that leads to a page where you can book the X7 or register your interest.

What’s this big deal about? The G07 X7 is based on a modified X5 platform and aims to offer 7 Series luxury in a big SUV body. BMW is targeting cars like the Mercedes-Benz GLS, Lexus LX and Range Rover, among others. North America and China are expected to be the biggest markets for the X7.

At 5,151 mm long, 2,000 mm wide and 1,805 mm tall, the X7 is 229 mm longer and 60 mm taller than the latest X5, which has already been previewed here and is launching soon. The three-row SUV’s 3,105 mm wheelbase is 130 mm longer than the G05 X5’s.

The X7 is a full seven-seater with adult seating in all rows, but for the first time in a BMW SUV, a six-seat option comprising two middle row individual seats is available. Malaysia is however expected to get the regular three-seat bench in the middle row, in xDrive40i form.

The base petrol option is powered by a 3.0 litre turbocharged inline-six with 340 hp and 450 Nm of torque from 1,500 to 5,200 rpm. Paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and the firm’s rear-biased xDrive all-wheel drive system, the X7 xDrive40i is good for 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and a top speed of 245 km/h. Not bad for an over 2.3-tonne giant with every conceivable feature in the carmaker’s arsenal.

The 7 Series of SUVs is available in M Sport trim or the Design Pure Excellence package you see here – I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the latter’s chrome around the body and shiny multi-spoke wheels seem right. Likewise, BMW’s current penchant for large nostrils might stand out a bit too much on the latest G12 7 Series limo, but the proportions are almost appropriate here, IMHO.

Check out the full walk-around video below as the X7 project manager takes us through the main selling points of the flagship SUV, as well as the final details.

If the X5 already RM650k, expect this car to be RM1 million. 30 years of inefficiencies and corruption has made our car prices so high!

Freedom of speech and everyone must fully respected.

Looks like Danny Yap, Uno, venven81 and Jon didnt even own their car and never even experiences at all.

Just look at BMW, they are always work hard and make their design more nicer, getting proper specs in Malaysia for CKD Models and CBU Models. And those Bashers should also not to complain about headlights and should also not saying about higher price.

So this means that X7 xDrive 40i G07 is the same engine as X5 xDrive 40i G05 as well. Of course, Both Models of BMW X5 G05 and BMW X7 G07 uses 3.0L TwinPower Turbo Engine I6. Also, not to forget that, for the BMW plug in Hybrid X5 xDrive45e G05 will also uses same cylinder, same name of BMW Engine but different horsepower plus comes with electric engine system compare to this engine
