BYD Cars Malaysia has announced it has expanded its dealer network to 23 outlets, spanning much of Peninsular Malaysia as well as Sabah and Sarawak. Its latest locations are the BYD Hartamas 3S centre at the Hartamas Shopping Centre (the opening of which we covered in June) and another 3S facility in Kaya Ara, Damansara.
This is an increase from the 21 the brand originally planned to open by the end of the year and includes expansions to both the northern (with new showrooms in Butterworth and Alor Star) and southern regions (Seremban, Melaka and Batu Pahat), along with the east coast (Kuantan), Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.
However, the eagle-eyed will have noticed two dealers from the original list that have yet to be opened, these being Goh Brothers Cars in Ipoh and a Sime Darby Beyond Auto-owned outlet in Tebrau. Replacing these in the latest list are the aforementioned Hartamas 3S centre as well as new facilities at IOI Mall Puchong, IOI City Mall, PJ33 Mall and Gurney Plaza, the latter in George Town, Penang.
BYD also said it will open more outlets very soon, which could very well be the missing Ipoh and Tebrau outlets mentioned earlier. There certainly won’t be a shortage of new models for visitors, with the cheaper Seal Dynamic and updated 2024 Atto 3 having recently been launched.
