Closing off a relatively busy year for the Three-pointed Star, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) is holding a Luxury Like No Other event next week, November 5 to 10 at the Autohaus showroom in Mutiara Damansara. In an unusual move, the company has listed all the cars it will be launching – and it is a very Affalterbach-heavy list.

The most relevant to most Malaysians is the C254 GLC350e 4Matic Coupé plug-in hybrid, which likely replaces the GLC300 Coupé that was introduced last year. It’s powered by the same combination of a 204 PS/320 Nm 2.0 litre M254 turbo engine and 129 PS/440 Nm electric motor as the recently-launched regular GLC350e. Total system output is rated at 313 PS and 550 Nm of torque, and with an identical 31.2 kWh battery, the all-electric range remains the same at up to 131 km on the WLTP cycle.

It will be joined by the hotter Mercedes-AMG GLC43, which utilises the high-performance 2.0 litre M139l four-pot mill from the A45S, here producing 421 PS and 500 Nm. This 48-volt mild hybrid mill incorporates a 14 PS/150 Nm belt-driven starter-generator (BSG); so equipped, it gets from zero to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.

Also set to be introduced is the facelifted GLE63S 4Matic+ and GLE63S 4Matic+ Coupé. This is the first time the top-dog V167/C167 GLE is being offered in Malaysia, pairing a monstrous 612 PS/850 Nm version of the venerable 4.0 litre M177 V8 with a 22 PS/250 Nm BSG. This enables the leviathan to blitz the century sprint in just 3.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 280 km/h.

The next car on the list couldn’t be more different. That would be the SL63 4Matic+, joining the SL43 that was launched last year. Packing a 585 PS/800 Nm M177, it produces 204 PS and 320 Nm more than the lesser version, taking more than a second out of the century sprint (3.6 seconds). Top speed of this brutish roadster is 315 km/h.

Last but not least is the facelifted W465 G63, replacing the outgoing W464 model. It retains the 585 PS/850 Nm M177 but adds a 20 PS/200 Nm BSG, getting the boxy geländewagen from zero to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. Changes include minor aesthetic tweaks and the long-overdue adoption of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX).

Aside from being able to check out the new cars, visitors to the Luxury Like No Other event will be able to test drive the latest AMG models such as the SL43, C63S E Performance and CLA45S. Visit the official MBM website to RSVP.
