Proton pledges RM250k to support Putra Heights victims; free assessments at 6 nearby service centres

Proton has allocated RM250,000 to support those affected by the recent Putra Heights gas pipeline fire, as well as activated six service centres in the vicinity to provide free and comprehensive assessments of all affected Proton vehicles.

“The devastation caused by the fire in Putra Harmoni is deeply concerning, and we are committed to providing meaningful support to the affected community. We hope that this financial aid will provide some relief to those who are suffering,” said Proton CEO Li Chunrong in a release.

The carmaker said it is aware that many affected residents are saying that the financial aid they are receiving is insufficient, and hopes its contribution will alleviate the victims’ suffering, including those taking temporary refuge at places such as Dewan Masjid Putra Heights and Subang Jaya City Council’s multi-purpose hall, Dewan Camelia.

On the free vehicle assessments, they are aimed at accurately determining the extent of damage and providing owners with clear pathways for repair and restoration, whether the cars were parked at ground zero or moved out during the incident. Proton will assist with insurance claims based on severity and will ensure owners’ benefits are protected.

The six service centres providing the free assessments are:

  • AAPICO Motors – Queenie Know (010-2638411)
  • SAG Wira – Kenny (019-2733366)
  • MBf Automobile – Norizan (012-8286187)
  • Atiara Johan – Ray Chan (011-54193943)
  • Regal Motors Holdings – Wong (012-6118318)
  • Vantage Speed – Siti (019-3537832)

Since the April 1 incident, Chery and Carro have announced that they would be loaning out 50 and 30 cars respectively, the road transport department (JPJ) has set up mobile counters for free printing of driving licences, road taxes and vehicle ownership certificates (geran), Prasarana has deployed six Rapid KL On-Demand vans, and the General Insurance Association of Malaysia (PIAM) has announced that its members will work to expedite claims.

Perodua…dont always sing ABBA”s song WINNERS TAKE ALL.

    Free assesment?
    What a joke.

When you go to Workshop, then ask for quotation for repair.
If you not agree with the pricem you just walk away.
    No payment needed.
    Sound familiar?
