Go to Hap Seng Star’s Facebook page and you’ll see the above poster, announcing that the 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQV facelift will be launched in Malaysia tomorrow by the country’s Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle distributor, Hap Seng Truck Distribution.
This is the first time Malaysia is getting the electric van officially – three years ago you could buy an EQV 300 from Weststar for RM485k, although that was the pre-facelift version. Now we’re going to get the facelift, which was globally revealed in 2023. It’s still based on the third-gen W447 platform, though.
The EQV is only available in Avantgarde trim. In the shot above you can see a closed-off grille; we wonder if Malaysia will get LED illumination here. At the bottom of the rear window should be Mercedes-Benz lettering, and inside you’ll find a new dashboard containing new air vents, new switchgear and two 12.3-inch screens connected to each other.
If it’s the EQV 300 we’re getting, you can expect a 204 PS/362 Nm front-mounted electric motor, a 90-kWh battery, a 340 km range, a 45-minute 10-80% charging time at 110 kW DC and a sub-10 hour full charge at 11 kW AC. There should be seven seats in a 2-2-3 arrangement, just like Weststar’s 2022 EQV 300.
Full details tomorrow, but just for comparison’s sake, the petrol-powered Vito Tourer is now priced at RM435k, up from RM342k-RM360k at launch in 2021. A year later, there was even a RM380k Maybach-like Vito Tourer Special Edition.

The technology compare to Zeekr or Xpeng was behind with just 345km range….look outrageous. People maybe buy to get the brand name.
345km *stated* range is shockingly low
outdated, they should have wait for the new one
Merc designers just aren’t good in designing MPVs. the design looks hideous and looks like a Ford Transit.
