Nissan Sylphy SV: bodykit, black cabin for Thailand

Nissan Sylphy SV Thailand-01

Nissan Thailand has released a sportier looking variant of the latest Nissan Sylphy. The Nissan Sylphy SV (we’re not sure what it stands for, but not Super Value for sure!) comes with a bodykit and a black interior to replace the standard light coloured cabin.

The mild bodykit consists of front, rear and side skirts, plus a boot spoiler with integrated third brake light. There’s also an SV badge on the boot. Not quite Sentra Nismo, but it does look a touch sportier. Those alloys, painted in Hyper Black, look similar to the rims on the Nissan Pulsar. The five-door Pulsar is the hatchback version of the new Sylphy.

The 852,000 baht (RM82,500) SV is based on the 1.6L Sylphy, and there are no technical changes. Under the hood is a HR16DE four-pot with 116 PS and 154 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT transmission. Nissan Thailand also sells a 1.8L Sylphy with 131 PS/174 Nm. We were in the Land of Smiles in August last year for the ASEAN debut of new Sylphy – click here to see the pics and read a mini test drive report.

If you’re wondering when it will come to Malaysia, the answer is Q2 2014, according to a site visit report by HLIB Research.

This cannot be true. Because Nissan always launches cars in Malaysia 8 years later, after the model becomes old and obsolete. That is ETCM, lembap and slow. Anyway, nobody buys Nissan anymore after their scum CEO openly came out in public and said having high car prices and high car taxes was very good for all the 30 million people population in Malaysia. Malaysians can NEVER forget this wonderful statement by the No 1. Man in Nissan Malaysia ETCM. A very shocking statement!

If its a sushi, it will have great RV,

As long as its not a kimchi, it will have RV

If its a KIA, make it a habit to pray 20X a day

If space matters, better buy Preve. Even caradvice reviewer from Australia agreed it’s rear is spacious like a camry.

NO one else? Ok I’ll be the first. It’s over priced. Under powered, compromised for tall Australians. Poor long term value. Points for trying but needs work. Close up on interior bits was not complimentary. From the article sounds like they will be replaced several times during warranty.”

When one drives is kimchi, immediate perception from friends is that you are cheap skate. From the chicks perspective, you are a freaking stingy bugger that will get your gal to split the bill / go dutch on dates. From your bosses perspective, you will be deems untrustworthy and not dependable.

Most of all, at family gatherings, ppl will say, look that sor chai that bought a korean with no resale value and poor in quality

No you ask why Kimchi owners wish to sell their rotten cabbages within a year?

Well, for kimchi owner, its a reality that they have to face.

Always looked down by society, never trustworthy, no career future and most of all, they have a permanent hailat face

There’s only so long one can hold on to its past reputation. If the Japs don’t buck up and offer better looking cars, better safety features, more interior comfort and more competitive prices, Sam Loo will have to sell his sushis as scraps in another 2 years.

Is just that MALAYSIAN CAR DEALERS LIKE UMW, ETCM AND OTHERS DON’T ENFORCE ALL CARS MUST HAVE CERTAIN SAFETY FEATURES !

Can’t you see that there are so many ppl out there that woke up after selling their kimchis?

Once you get rid of the cabbage, you will be feeling youthful again, coz there will be no one looking down on you.

      • Seeing how you think sushis are so much more reliable than kimchis, why does your Toyota give only 3 years warranty? Even Kia/Hyundai which you constantly bad-mouth are giving 5 years warranty here in Malaysia, and 7 years of warranty in other countries. If kimchis are such bad and unreliable cars, would they even offer such a long warranty period? They would’ve been bankrupt by now.

I suppose the 5yr or 7 yr warranty gimmick really works on people that do not do their research and read properly.

They just need to put this bait onto the hook and get you paying an arm and 2 legs.

Read the exclusions and conditions of the warranty. I really do not want to waste my time teaching tai lan ngong sorhais to be smart

“Sylphy SV” Nope.. the name is still terrible. It still sounds like a sexually transmitted disease. Its not enough that the Nissan designers made the car ugly. The marketing department had to name it like a disease.

Bluebird in Hokkien is pronounced a Lam Ciao. Once the tone is twisted, it will sound like the look on the face of kimchi owners that has been shown the Hilux

Another busy day at the yard, the boss Sam took a day off after a busy weekend

With the year end approaching and CNY around the corner, so many KIA owners came into the yard today beggging to sell, but we had to turn every single one of them away, with a broomstick or 2.

Seems that K5 owners have given up, most that turn up are Forte owners, who complain like hell about the car veering to 1 side after going back to the factory more than 1 time, only to be told that the car behave like that, naturally.

All I can do is “mee mee smile”, and can’t show them the Hilux coz I can’t offer them a trade in price.

    So ker lian ……

Not true, because of the instinctive buy, you will lose 50% (at least) of the car value within a year, and I make 20% when I trade them

As such, your money is my money, as a result of your momentary mistake putting your money down for a cabbage that essentially is a layer of egg shell and by the time you realise that you made a mistake, you will find all excuses to say that its a good buy until the day you sell it off
