Volkswagen Caddy Alltrack – 4Motion with 4X4 looks

VW Caddy Alltrack-03

The Volkswagen Caddy has been given a rugged off-road treatment for both passenger and panel van variants. The Volkswagen Caddy Alltrack replaces the previous-gen Volkswagen Cross Caddy.

Outside, the van gets 17-inch alloys, Mojave Beige metallic paint and black trim panels on the wheel arches, side sills and front bumpers. In Alltrack fashion, it also receives three fins on its painted radiator grille, silver housings for the side mirrors, smoked rear lamps and Alltrack logos on the front grille, rear end and roof rails.

Going inside, the Caddy Alltrack receives a leather package for the steering wheel, handbrake and gear lever boot and is enhanced with Muscat-coloured stitches. For the passenger variant, seats are wrapped with special “7Summits” covers and there are folding tables on the front seatbacks. Other highlights are chrome accents on the switches, aluminium-look pedals, Muscat-sewn Alltrack floormats and a dark cabin.

Engine options remain the same for the Caddy; four diesel 2.0 litre TDI variants ranging from 75 hp to 150 hp, and three other petrol variants; a 1.0 litre, 1.2 litre and a 1.4 litre TSI engine, ranging from 84 hp to 125 hp and a natural gas unit, the 1.4 litre TGI engine which makes 110 hp.

Transmissions range from a five or six-speed manual and a six and seven-speed DSG, depending on the engine. VW’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system is optional.

Available in Europe by the end of this year, prices for the Caddy Alltrack panel van starts from €16,485 (RM80,578) to €24,359 (RM119,076) for the priciest passenger version. The Caddy Alltrack variants will be heading for the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

For this, we have to thanks to the headlamp designers.
But the rear light no other than any Van’s design.

Now, what is VW designer doing with this kind of exterior and interior?

If the ride is as good or better than my present one year old Sharan then most likely I’ll get one…….provided my wife agrees. She loves our present Sharan so much she has told me to forget getting another new car for the next four years. With the Caddy I dare show her it is better than her beloved Sharan.
