After the introduction of the all-new Mazda CX-4 at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show, we now bring you the first Chinese-market promotional video for the crossover. In it, we get to see a digitally-rendered version of the CX-4 as it shows off its features.
Touted as an active lifestyle vehicle here (you’ll see why), we are shown the crossover’s signature DRLs and LED headlamps, along with the rest of the car’s body. We then shift inwards, where we are greeted by a layout that is very similar to that on the Mazda 3.
Highlights inside the cabin include the MZD Connect seven-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Commander Control, an electronic handbrake (with auto hold), dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery and a heads-up display.
In China, the CX-4 is offered with two four-cylinder SkyActiv-G petrol engines – 2.0 litre (158 hp and 202 Nm) and 2.5 litre (192 hp and 252 Nm). Transmission options include a SkyActiv-MT six-speed manual or SkyActiv-Drive six-speed automatic. Two- and four-wheel drive is available here as well, although the latter only comes with the larger of the two engines.
Even though the CX-4 is exclusive to China, Mazda officials have said that they’re evaluating other markets to introduce the CX-4 in for the near future. Would you want the crossover to be offered here in Malaysia and if so, what sort of features interest you the most?

I tot chinese pipu don like numba 4??
Yes please. CX3 is nice but the boot is to small for a family. This CX4 is just nice, sleek & sporty. Specs if it were to made available here, please include paddle shifter as in CX3.
CX-3 with a slightly bigger cabin space but with a bigger RM added to it
How come Mazda made this CX4 looks away better than the CX5..?? Haiyoo
2.5 4wd, baru best..
Mazda has come a long way from its generic Kodo design philosophy and it’s very obvious that the new CX-4 possess the same heritage. In summary, the compact family SUV is a perfect balance in terms of looks, size and performance as compared with both the CX-3 and CX-5. Offering the car with an AWD system also makes perfect sense for Malaysian roads. Despite some immature negative comments, Mazda has usually always made comfortable, practical and reliable cars, you need to own one to understand that that this vehicle will not let you down in the near future. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but most importantly the CX-4 must be sold with the right package especially to budding motor enthusiasts in Malaysia. As for me, it looks great, performs well for long distance touring, the decent size cabin and boot space is perfect for young families. Come on Mazda, bring it to Malaysia!
