Already seen testing on public roads, the facelifted Volkswagen Mk7 Golf R Variant wagon has now been spotted undergoing more rigorous testing at the Nurburgring. As seen before, exterior changes are rather restrained, with changes mostly surrounding the headlamps and the front bumper.
Here, too, is a clearer picture of the concealed front bumper treatment, which sports a more three-dimensional sculpting around the side scoops. In comparison to the test mule seen testing on public roads, the rear end of the car is now camouflaged, indicating changes to the rear bumper, and possibly the tailgate too.
Powertrain specifications are expected to remain as before, but the interior is set to receive updates such as a digital instrument panel which is already optional on the B8 Passat, along with gesture control which was previewed in the Golf R Touch show car at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show.
Slotting in between the R and the standard Golf is the GTI, which can been seen here in rendered form.

Calling Mat… alamak… dia tak jawab
VW must be very confident to be testing a Golf “WAGON” & its in R form. Beware folks, VW is telling us that they are serious about producing a Wagon that can outrun a conventional saloon & still can carry loads of baggage/luggage.
