MINI Seven Edition launched in M’sia – special 5 Door

MINI Malaysia has introduced the new MINI Seven Edition, the first design model from the brand’s 5 Door model. Described as an expression of premium characteristics and individual style, the MINI Seven Edition is created as an homage to the original Austin Seven of the 1960s. The Seven name was first used by BMW-owned MINI in 2005 for a variant with higher end trim and kit.

Today’s MINI Seven comes in the MINI Yours personalisation programme colour Lapisluxury Blue. This non-metallic finish is the most intensive blue tone ever applied to the body of a MINI, according to its maker, with striking brilliance, intensity and depth derived from an elaborate production process.

The blue contrasts with Melting Silver roof and exterior mirror caps, with matching bonnet stripes. The 17-inch wheels in the MINI Yours Spectre Grey colour are also exclusive to the Seven, which includes LED headlights, LED daylight driving rings and LED fog lamps.

The surrounds of the side scuttles bear the logo of the design model, which is made up of the wordmark “Seven” and the number seven. The MINI Seven logo can also be found on the door sill finishers on the driver and front passenger sides.

Inside, the MINI Seven Edition comes with sports seats in the exclusive Diamond Malt Brown fabric/leather finish. The MINI Yours steering wheel is made of “Walknappa” leather with hand-stitched seams in waxed aluminium braided thread, finished with a Union Jack signet. More unique stuff in the form of MINI Seven entry strips and centre instrument ring badging. Comfort Access is standard.

The Seven in powered by 2.0 litre four-cylinder engine with 192 hp and 280 Nm. Paired to a six-speed Steptronic auto with shift paddles, it’s good for 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. MINI Driving Modes allows one to choose from Sport and Green modes. DSC, DTC, Electronic Differential Lock Control and the understeer-figting Performance Control are standard.

Also standard is the 8.8-inch Hi Res Navigation System Professional with a 3D design and various functions for navigation, office and multimedia. Entering info such as destinations can be made in handwriting with the touchpad integrated into the MINI Controller, which can also be rotated and pressed. Also in is a reverse camera.

Audio is by a Harmon Kardon HiFi Sound System with 12 speakers. A Snap In Adapter, which is a docking system with integrated charging function for most mobile phones is optional. By connecting with the car’s external aerial, it ensures the best possible reception at all times.

The New MINI Seven Edition is priced at RM253,888 on-the-road without insurance. As usual, it comes with MINI’s four-year unlimited mileage warranty with free scheduled service.

Rm255k for a small junk? Mini thinks Malaysians are dumb. Now can get a good German car like VW Tiguan for RM140k. Or wait few more months before VW do their firesales and sell the Tiguan at RM99k. (They sure will do caus ethey did that with Passat and Jetta and shocked all Passat and Jetta owners who bought at full price)

Only a silly person will buy a small tiny junk at RM255k. Wait few more months and buy a huge Tiguan for RM99k

    Mini Malaysia is dreaming.
