Perodua Bezza launched in Mauritius – RM70k-86k

The Perodua Bezza has been launched in Mauritius, with authorised distributor Raouf Dusmohamud & Co bringing in two trim levels to choose from – 1.0L and 1.3L Premium X. Both can be had with either a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission.

“Mauritius is a strategic destination for us as this country is one of the most popular tourist destination spots in the world and having the Perodua Bezza here would give it the global exposure that it needs,” said Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh, Perodua president and CEO.

In terms of pricing, the Bezza 1.0L with a manual transmission retails at 562,884 Mauritian Rupees (RM70,405.35), whereas the automatic variant is priced at 589,268 Mauritian Rupees (RM 73,705.45).

Meanwhile, the top-spec Bezza 1.3L Premium X is sold at 657,699 Mauritian Rupees (RM 82,264.78) with a manual transmission, and 684,990 Mauritian Rupees (RM 85,678.33) for the automatic.

“We target to sell on average 168 units of the Perodua Bezza per year, targeting car rental businesses, city taxis, young professionals and those with young families,” said Raouf Dusmohamud, managing director at Raouf Dusmohamud & Co.

“The Bezza is an exceptional car as it is fuel efficient, has low cost of ownership, spacious, well designed and well made. We believe this model will be well accepted here,” he added.

The authorised distributor now offers three Perodua models following the introduction of the Bezza, with the other two being the Axia and Alza. Raouf Dusmohamud & Co was appointed Perodua’s authorised distributor in 1996, and have sold over 2,000 Perodua vehicles from 1996 to 2016. The Perodua Viva was its bestselling model with 711 units sold between 2008 and 2014

A very suitable car for a tiny country like Mauritius. I hope it sells well over there. Malaysia need more exports.

At first I thought, “Perodua will never sell well with that pricetag.” Then I went on to check other vehicle prices as well.

Mauritius, one of the place where a Hilux is more expensive than a Corolla, which is what it really should be, not the other way around. Also, if Bezza has double the price in Mauritius compared to Malaysia, what are the odds other manufacturer also priced their cars very expensive?

I went on Toyota website(only reference not for bashing) and found out a Toyota Avanza costs Mauritian peoples Rs921,723 which equivalent to RM114,742; and it is way expensive than a Vios in Mauritius which costs Rs895,000 which is RM111,415. They probably use different tax system thus that overwhelming vehicle price.

Hmmm.. and Malaysia supposedly has the “2nd most expensive cars in the world, after Singapore” according to brainless keyboard warriors..

Oh wait, maybe Mauritius has a Proton that needs protecting, and that’s why the Bezza is so expensive over there?

It should be pronounced as beh-za. Short h.
I guess similar to ‘base’ without the s. Bae-zza ? Or, think of it as ‘meh’, but with a ‘b’. Meh-za, Beh-za.
Should not sound like bee-za. zza follows pizza.

Toyota/Daihatsu are not giving p2 to market where there is huge population, such As indon, india, etc. So, pity p2 can only go to small segments. Have a nice holiday, p2.

LOL~ With internet exists, I think not much people there will buy this. Save the ugly back, what’s brand called Perodua over there?
Sarcastic but pragmatic, if you sell as Daihatsu, maybe people will still buy.
